Any one has tried this yet?
I want to start using a 2014 MacBook Pro mainly for web browsing, and the latest supported version it uses is big sur. Does anyone have any experience running macOS Ventura or Sonoma, or higher, on a 2014 MacBook Pro. The version I have has a dual core intel i5 and 8 gb of ram. Or should I be sticking with a lower version, like Monterey? I've never used OCLP before, so is there anything I should know if I do upgrade it to a newer version?
I've been having issues with accessing a particular website which uses Cloudflare's turnstile. OCLP / Sequoia 15.5 / Safari 18.5. Tried multiple machines, and via my mobile network provider, cable broadband, and office broadband. Same problems.
Today maps.apple.com tells me my current browser isn't supported and recommends I use Safari.
Connect using my M2 MBA and everything works perfectly.
AFAIK I've the same Anti-Virus & settings across all of my Macs but clearly something is different.
Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
I am planning to install more recent mac os releases on my 2015 Macbook Pro 15" retina (with intel graphics, no discrete graphics), 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. Which OS version do you suggest that I install via OCLP? My workload is basic productivity, netflix/youtube, python coding and a lot of browser (chrome) activities. My goal is to have long battery life, smooth performance and little heat. Please advise. Thanks!!!
I have tried literally everything. Maybe I'm just missing something simple. USB is formatted to FAT32.

Ran OCSanityChecker too, unsure whether the Patch errors are the cause:

Has anyone been able to get Hackintosh installed on this laptop? This is running 8gb ram with AMD 5r cpu
Just bought one and would like to install MacOS on this if possible
I made a Mac OS recovery usb using oclp but it isn’t showing up when I boot into efi boot option.
Note: Black screen is not the 'no signal' one. There is display, only black with backlight.
Specs: H61 motherboard i5-3470 RX-550 Lexa (spoofed to Baffin core) 16 Gigs of RAM 256GB Sata SSD
This also happened when I first installed Sonoma, but it could be solved by using Safe Mode and in Safe Mode I ran OCLP to install root patched and it worked fine normally and had no issues. But I can't bypass it on Sequoia, not even with Safe Mode.
tengo ahora un mac mini 2014 i5 2.6ghz 16gb ram y 250gb ssd que sistema me conviene instalarle? estoy en macos monterey
After I installed Sonoma on my mid-2012 Macbook pro (it was on 10.15 Catalina before this) I tried to sign in with my Apple ID, and it failed. It didn’t throw an error message out or anything, it just asked for the verification code, took it, then reverted back, as if I’d never attempted to sign in. I’ve installed and re-installed the post-install root patches, so I don’t know what else I could do.
yo guys,
i have this MacBook Pro 7,1, but the audio is tinny, and idk why... please guys help.
It doesn't appear any Wifi signal ... Nd also it doesn't recognize 2 4gb DDR3 Soddim RAM.... I NEED HELP!

As the title says I literally don't see this anywhere on reddit or on YT which is pretty sad, given it should be.
I did find in some threads people trying to explain it but those individuals are very vague in their explanations and respectfully don't realize not every knows what they are doing hence why this place exist. Hopefully this is helpful and mods can pin this. Thanks.
Erase and Reset for OCLP devices:
1 - go into recovery via the usb installer (holding down option key while powering up, select efi partition of usb installer)
2 wipe the drive, ie. the Macintosh HD (not the entire drive) (you should only see the Macintosh HD not the entire drive)
3 reboot back to the bootloader window (holding down option at reboot while powering up)
4 you should ONLY see 3 option: -EFI for Internal Drive -macOS installer for that specific OS your installing -EFI for External Drive (select the macOS installer from there NOT from the EFI External Drive)
5 you should be brought back to recovery part and there you just install the macos per normal install.
6 when it finishes and your brought back to the setup screen, turn off the device and unplug the USB installer to insure you did it right.
7 restart the device and you should be back at the setup screen to select country and region.

| Having some issues with legacy wireless, it seems to detect WiFi connections but won’t let the password go through or connect to any iPhone hotspots, also Bluetooth just automatically turns off if I try to use it. Does anyone know how to get round this please? As everything else works perfectly! Thanks [link] [comments] |
| Guys, I'm trying to apply the patches (a very boring client machine, which can't lose the data in any way) but it's returning this error Any suggestion? [link] [comments] |

Firstly, I apologize if this isn’t the exact right place to ask — I’m new to the Mac upgrade scene and trying to find the best advice. But I thought some of you experienced people must know solution to such a basic issue.
TL;DR:
I upgraded my 2017 MacBook Pro from Ventura to Sequoia using OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Seller says I need macOS 10.2+ on original Apple SSD before swapping to a third-party NVMe SSD for EFI firmware updates. I’m unsure if my current setup has the right EFI firmware or if I need to downgrade to Ventura first. Need advice!
Hey everyone,
I'm planning to upgrade the internal SSD on my 2017 MacBook Pro (no Touch Bar, model A1708) from the original 128GB Apple SSD --> 3rd party 1TB NVMe SSD (KINGDATA).
Here is my situation and would appreciate any help:
- I recently updated (last week) my macbook from Ventura --> Sequoia and it is running perfectly using OCLP.
- When installing Sequoia, I had to install an EFI folder as part of the process I believe.
- The SSD seller on amazon states in the product description that I need to have macOS 10.2 or later installed on the original Apple SSD before swapping to ensure the Mac's EFI firmware is updated. Something to do with the EFI/firmware being able to read the 3rd party SSD.
- My Mac only officially supports up to macOS Ventura, but now I'm on Sequoia through OCLP.
- I'm worried whether the EFI firmware was properly updated or has been changed or something while I installed Sequoia.
- I checked my System Firmware Version (previously known as Boot ROM Version) and it shows "529.140.2.0.0" but I can't find any information online on whether this supposedly EFI firmware is updated enough to support 3rd-party NVMe SSDs and avoid certain sleep mode issues I have seen people face online.
So here are my questions:

Does running maOS Sequoia via OCLP confirm that EFI firmware updates from Ventura or earlier are intact and valid on my macbook?
Should I downgrade back to Ventura on my original SSD to ensure EFI updates are properly installed before swapping? OR Can I just directly swap the SSD without any issues?

Ethernet is supposed to work but my 1225-V causes the OS to hang without any kexts. With AppleIGC, macOS just kernel panics before reaching the lock screen. Was it probably a waste of time considering the end of x64 macOS is near? Probably. But I need adobe apps and I don't like using Windows + Linux doesn't support them. [link] [comments] |
| With the latest Sequoia update and root patch, some of my icons and other graphics on my screen have become pixelated and look like they're about to be beamed onto the Enterprise or something. What is happening and how do I fix it? The best I've come up with is that my 2012 iMac is not Metal compatible and it has something to do with that. I don't really want to go backwards to an older OS if I can help it. It is not a huge deal but once in a while a graphical element will just turn into retro 8-bit graphics. [link] [comments] |

Hi - I am running a Mac Pro2013 (6,1) with Sonoma 14.7.2 and OCLP 2.2.0. I am having issues with getting my Home videos loaded in and the system crashes. I can re-open it holding down the Option Key and creating a new TV Library, but then I am back to square 1. Is this a known issue - I don’t think I want to go to Sequoia - should I update OCLP; which version is most stable? I can upgrade to OS 14.7.5.

| | I have, after much difficulty, created a default OCLP 2.4.0 macOS 15.5 installation on my MBA 7,2 i7 machine. I have returned to the problem of being unable to access my Synology NAS Time Machine backup data. I can connect to the NAS and Time Machine can see the device, however the connection just spins forever "Checking capabilities of ...". I have "Disabled" the "Advanced ... FeatureUnlock" however this did not help. Any more clues? [link] [comments] |

Ive successfully installed macOS Sonoma on my ivyBridge system. And then used OCLP to patch Nvidia web driver (not that straight forward).
At first I tried to patch with the latest version of OCLP but that didn't enable qe/ci. Then I used OCLP version 2.0.1 and it worked. After that I updated OCLP to the latest version and rematch and it still works.
There are some weird glitches with the blur effect but overall, the animations are smooth.
My specs:
I haven't fully tested everything yet. There's will be a followup post.
