Only front headphone jack works on vanilla install.
Image
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370XP SLI. CPU: i7 8700k Audio Chipset: ALC1220 Using vanilla install. I have Lilu and AppleALC along with patch in place. I’ve tried 1, 7, and 11 to inject codec. Only thing consistently working is front headphone jack on whatever codec I use. Is it because I have not injected the right codec yet to receive output on the internal speakers? Any suggestions? [Need Help] Installing Mojave on Probook G4 440
Image
Hi everyone! I'm having troubles following this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-hp-probook-elitebook-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.261719/ . To boot into installation screen and to start macOS i had to set my IntelGFX. In every start i receive a message that my PC shut down because of a problem ( Maybe with custom SSDT i can fix that ). When i connect my monitor through HDMI, my PC restarts. When i connect my headphones through Jack slot my PC doesn't recognize it. My trackpad works but in settings says "No trackpad found". Does anyone has: Guide for this laptop model or an updated guide? Stable .plist? ( I used the .plist from probook.git/config/config_4x0_G4_Kabylake.plist but my pc won't start so i'm using config_HD615_620_630_640_650.plist and set IntelGFX with 0x59168086 ) Any recommendation? This are my installation steps: I created my bootable USB with Clover 4920 (In the guide there is a pic of the drivers64UEFI fol...

High Sierra suddenly "Still waiting for root device"
Image
Good morning all. After 2 years of functioning just fine, my Hackintosh now will not boot properly, only gives me a long Apple loading bar followed by the prohibitory sign. After running verbose, it's hanging up on the "still waiting for root device" error. It's been so long since I configured this system that I barely remember the process - other than that I used Multibeast and use Clover Config for boot. I haven't used a USB boot in years, I only directly boot from my Samsung SSD via SATA. I can still see the SSD in the BIOS when I boot the computer, but I'm afraid to make any changes without advice because I know these can be tricky. The only other boot option currently set is dart=0. Trying to boot into Recovery via Clover gives the same Stop Sign screen. Specs: Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 i5 2500k GTX 760 4GB 8 GB Ram 480 GB SSD This issue came seemingly out of nowhere - I have not recently installed any new programs, made any hardware changes...

Clover doesn't see original macOS Drive
Image
Hey all, I used CCC to make a backup of macOS and near the end, it asks if I want to clone the Recovery partition, so I'm thinking "sure" and click yes. It takes a little bit of time, but eventually finishes up seemingly without a hitch. I reboot my computer and get to Clover, but I now only see the back up drive. When I try to boot into macOS from it, it gets to about 80% on the loading bar, and then restarts. But in reality, all I care *a lot* about is getting my original macOS drive to show up again. Not sure what to do or how to fix or what went wrong. To add, I can view the drives in Windows 10 (using a combination of MiniPartition Tool Wizard and Explore++) and can edit my EFI partition if need be. It doesn't seem to be a problem with seeing certain drives since my old boot USB shows up as "Install High Sierra" and the backup drive, when plugged in, shows up as well. e: Just to add more info, pressing F3 at the Clover screen doesn't sh...

Power LEDs still breathing after waking up from sleep mode? (ThinkPad T440p)
Image
I recently got Mojave working on my Lenovo ThinkPad T440p thanks to a couple of guides. This is a really minor issue, but it's been really bothering me. It seems like every time I put my laptop to sleep and it wakes up the power LEDs on both the power button, and the ThinkPad logo are still breathing. Is this a common issue and is there a fix for this? The only real issue I've noticed so far when the laptop wakes up from sleep mode has been that the Bluetooth stops working. I have plans to replace the Wireless card with one that's compatible with Macintosh once I perform a white-list BIOS mod, so I'm hoping that problem just has to do with the incompatible wireless card currently installed. https://reddit.com/link/bj13b3/video/7qa1jqw19dv21/player submitted by /u/IdahoNate153 [link] [comments] [► Source]

[Matebook 13] i7 8565u / Intel UHD 620?
Image
Hey there, Been following this guide here: https://github.com/gnodipac886/MatebookXPro-hackintosh It is of course for the Matebook X Pro, not the M13 which I am trying install this to. The main difference is that my M13 sports the newer Intel 8565u with Intel UHD 620 (which, in truth, really just is a new fancier name for the good ol' Intel HD 620 if I am not mistaken). I have an installer with the latest Mojave and upon booting from the USB thumb drive and starting the installer, -v will hang at seemingly random sections. I was wondering if there are any known vital changes that need to be made for this type of processor, so really just looking for some pointers here. Cheers! submitted by /u/Technotronsky [link] [comments] [► Source]
[HELP] XPS 15 9570 - Mojave Installer says 'Reinstall macOS,' instead of 'Install.' Then says the recovery server could not be contacted.
Image
I've just followed this guide to create the USB: macOS Internet Install Then followed this guide to downloaded a mostly pre-configured config.plist, then edited the options accordingly as per the guide: Bavarian Cake XPS 9570 GitHub - I've installed the "Broadcom BCM94352Z DW1560 6XRYC 802.11 AC 867 Mbps Bluetooth 4.0 WIFI WLAN Card," which is said to be compatible OOTB. - During the installer it is not recognised and I cannot connect to the internet to 'contact the recovery server.' The laptop has no ethernet port. - Is there a way to setup the config file to force the installer to use the local files on the USB drive? Or is there anything else I can do? submitted by /u/lamoondb [link] [comments] [► Source]
want to setup a new laptop
Image
Apologies if this has been asked but search didn't show anything that I could find. I have been using OS X as a virtual machine for a while but I want to build a laptop that I can use OS X. I am going to be purchasing a laptop to install this on. I would like some recommendations on a system that I can purchase that will fully work without a ton of hassle. I am very technical but time and patience are what I am lacking. Something light weight with a 13" screen is about the right size although I am willing to go to a 15" if needed. Prefer a 4k screen. I would like to have discrete graphics, 16gb ram and SSD m.2 drive. Does anyone know a system that will work fully without to much hassle or am I better off just to spend the shit ton of money on a macbook pro with a bad keyboard? Willing to spend up to $1,500 for a laptop. thanks for any help that you have submitted by /u/therealghent [link] [comments] [► Source]
Is it safe and OK to use a Carbon Copy Cloner bootable backup clone as my main drive?
Image
Quick question. I needed to transfer my macOS High Sierra install from my main NVME drive to a second SATA SDD. I did it via CCC and had no issues whatsoever, the backup is bootable and all. So I proceeded to completely wipe my macOS install from the first drive (where it initially was). Once I opened CCC again, it did notice it was a backup and displayed a message that said "Your mac is booted from a CCC backup volume". I didnt really used CCC to backup anything, I just used it essentially to clone my install to a whole another drive and once that was done with, wipe my first drive. Question is, is it all OK (performance wise, stability wise, etc) to use this "backup clone" as my daily driver? As its not really a backup but the whole main install. I just wanna make sure Im not suffering from any performance loss or anything by using a bootable clone instead of the real thing. Thanks! submitted by /u/Stompyx [link] [comments] [► Source]
Upgrading from an B85M + i5 4670 to a Z87 + i7 4770k
Image
I've bought a new motherboard and cpu to give my current computer a little bit of boost on performance and I'm not sure of what should I do to prepare my Hackintosh install to the new motherboard and processor. I was on a Gigabyte b85m-d3ph with a core i5 4670 and will move to an Asus Z87-K with an i7 4770k. It seems to me that I will not need to do anything since I'm staying on the same gen of intel processors and I'm using an RX580 as my GPU (so I don't have to worry with integrated graphics). Am I missing something? submitted by /u/PossibleBrother [link] [comments] [► Source]

Anki is Shutting Down
Image
Anki, the robotics company behind the Vector, Cozmo, and Overdrive Supercar robots, is shutting down, reports Recode. In a teary all-hands meeting on Monday morning, CEO Boris Sofman told his staff they would be terminated on Wednesday and that close to 200 employees would be paid a week of severance, according to people familiar with the matter. Sofman had told employees a few days earlier that the company was scrambling to find more money after a new round of financing fell through at the last minute, imperiling the company’s future. Anki neared $100 million in revenue in 2017 and was expected to surpass that amount in 2018. The company had already received $200 million in funding but needed additional backing to stay operational. After a large financial deal fell through, the company says it was left "without significant funding to support a hardware and software business and bridge to our long-term product roadmap."
