Hi there Hackintosh genuises! Anyone out there looking to help a newb out? I please hope so! So from checking out the info here, I know that the below equipment is all good albeit up to High Sierra. People on here recommended that I read the installation guides here. I've done that but now feel a bit overwhelmed. Openload vs I'm hoping/praying that someone kind might be up for helping me PLEASE? If anyone does feel like helping me you'd be doing a huge favour that would make a massive difference to my life. We've all heard about apple taking down hackintosh videos, mostly the ones that use other sources to get the OS. (rather than the usual borrow your friend's Mac method) If a gigantic YouTuber made a video on the net install ( https://internet-install.gitbook.io/macos-internet-install/ ), would it land them in trouble ? My Mid-2011 Mac Mini, and ASRock a75m-itx fueled Plex server are getting a bit long in the tooth. Thinking about buying a used PC from a local seller and using that to spawn a new hackintosh that will serve all of these needs. Sturdy build for work, video conferencing, some light video edits. Plex server. Space to build, develop, play. My question is around which box would be the best starting point. I've read mixed messages about some of the components and building a hackintosh. Would love input. Specifically, I've got my eyes on the following three: - i7 970, EVGA X58 SLI motherboard, Red Devil RX590 - i5 2500K, Sabertooth P67 motherboard, GeForce GTX 770 - Ryzen 5 1500, MSI B450 gaming plus motherboard, Zotac GTX 1060 I figure all have strengths and weaknesses. Hi guys, I'm looking to build a hackintosh and the thinkpads are quite solid looking. I noticed various models come with different catches and need to change the Wi-Fi card to get it to work. I'd like to get some expertise on this area and looking to buy a used thinkpad off eBay. Looking for 13inch/14inch size but to emulate the retina resolution and not bulky Everything will work without much hardware modification (Airdrop, iMessage etc..), but worst case will be open to do it. Hi! I managed to get around to setup a KVM hackintosh on AMD x570 with a dedicated passthrough RX460 (Gigabyte, 4GB). However, there's no hardware acceleration in the OS. (Black dock, slow animations, slow launchpad, etc) Here are my full specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X (with 8 cores to the KVM) RAM: 23GB DDR4-3200 (with 16GB to the KVM) GPU: 1x NVidia RTX 2080 Super (Linux), 1x AMD RX460 4GB Gigabyte (KVM, excluded with pci-stub.ids in GRUB) Mobo: MSI X570 Gaming (however, KVM, so IDK if this matters) Audio codec: no idea, but I don't really care Ethernet card: Realtek of some sort, however virtualized via KVM) Wifi: none Guide: Part 1 and Part 2 Configs: the defaults generated with the guide (however OVMF configured for 2560x1440 resolution) EDIT: forgot to mention, I'm running Mojave 10.14.6, and the RX 460 shows up in 'About this mac'. After countless hours of trying, I managed to get my Asus ROG G20AJ to run macOS. I eventually had to run it on a KVM with an Nivida GeForce GTX 750 as it would refuse to boot natively. Hello guys, I am trying to get Mojave 10.14.6 to work with a Thinkpad X230 with coreboot. I know that because of the lack of Intel ME, coreboot could be a problem for hackintosh. In this special case, I emulate UEFI with tianocore and leave the Intel ME region intact. So basically, hackintosh should work. However, I receive the following error when trying to load the installer: BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Unknown Attempting system restart...MACH Reboot Does anyone know what this means? After seeing this thread about a successful Y540 install and being unable to do so myself, I offered to pay for some help. Was PMed by another member who agreed to give me a hand. For anyone else with this laptop, hopefully this helps you as well. Laptop Configuration: Y540, 17", RTX 2060, 512 NVMe, 16GB of ram TL;DR: IF YOU HAVE THIS LAPTOP AND YOU ONLY READ ONE THING IN THIS POST, THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU CANNOT INSTALL ON AN NVMe DRIVE. If you simply install an SSD into the sata slot, a vanilla install basically installs without a hitch. I ran in circles for days with this thing, unable to get it to install until I was instructed to install an SSD in the sata slot of the laptop. Once I did that, the install went smoothly. Instructions: download Clover's Install Package download This EFI package run clover installer and select your USB drive. Note, USB-C drive did not work for me. Needed to be a regular USB drive. Hi, have a barebone with 8550/uhd620 and can't get it working. It works without weg with ig platform id 0x591b0000 and intel gfx fake id 0x59168086 but very laggy and I cannot set the fake id with weg. Hi, Have 2 displays - 5k@dp and 4kUHD@hdmi with rx560, and only hdmi is working at the start. Have to turn dp display off then back on, after that it started to work till sleep. Sometime, sif I didn't turn dp display off/on, it reboots on wake. had the same configuration with similar problem with 10.14.4 and 5, but it was fixed in 10.14.16 and now it does not work again in 10.15 and 10.15.1. Apple has pulled the iOS 13.2 update for HomePod and issued a warning to users already running the software update after numerous reports that it bricks the smart speaker. Users began reporting problems with the update on reddit yesterday: robertleeblairjr: I can confirm. HomePod is bricked now and won't reset. Only after updating to audioOS 13.2. No resets, unplugging, removing from HomeKit, etc. has helped. Spinning white circle and attempt to reset will turn the LED red but will return back to white spinning circle.
