I managed to install macOS Catalina and everything is working fine, except its kind of slow everytime i open Safari or any other Apps I installed (Discord, Spotify etc.). Its literally so annoying to use so I assumed it was an Power Management Issue. I followed Dortanias guide, did all the steps (I’m on Ivy Bridge btw.) but I dont think it did anything. I also heard it could be an graphics acceleration issue. I spoofed my GPU into thinking its an 270X and it even says 2GB of VRam so it definetly worked. But I just cant think of anything else that could cause this issue. If anyone here had the same problem with an Ivy Bridge and a R9 270, I would appreciate if someone knew the fix to that. Hi all, I thought id try and take the jump from Mojave to Big Sur and have been attempting to make a bootable USB using OpenCore 0.7.6 and Dortania's guides on building the EFI. Having followed everything for making a Coffee Lake build i go to boot from the USB and during the process it kernal panics when dealing with some USB related gumpf, upon restarting it seems to put my mobo into safe mode as well so im guessing it's upsetting something. I found that with igfxfw=2 boot-arg, that occassionally videos will trigger the UHD 630 on my XPS 15 7590 to go to its highest frequency until I sleep it or restart it, and Im wondering how to fix it because updating to the latest whatevergreen causes the display to dim after boot for a few minutes and only to be able to control brightness, and if I disable it it causes the battery to consume more when viewing a normal video. in Opencores guide, you need to enable Change _OSI to XOSI because of an SSDT you have to use which redirects OSI calls to that SSDT. I think Theresa is pretty cool. However I am curious, what does she mean when she’s talking about her Hypervisor solution? I know what a hypervisor is, and it’s obviously better than emulation, but what are the real world costs in performance? Is an HV Hackintosh hard to configure? I’ve done two bare metal builds and honestly - I’m not sure it’s worth the headache vs my billable hours I could be making in my business. I kind of lost my passion for it, but I am seriously considering trying the HV route. Even if I lose some performance I can live with it - Ryzen and even the new Intel’s are really fast and I mostly do design work with some 4k video. Alright, so I finally managed to get Hackintosh working on my PC. Everything works perfectly fine, except for the Power Management. Some things are so extremely laggy, for example I tried to minimize Safari, it freezes for like 15 seconds or just fully crashes my PC. I followed the OpenCore guide on how to fix that problem. Hi, i'm using DW1820a currently running on latest Big Sur without any problems. Handoff, airdrop works perfectly fine. I have previously updated to Monterey and airdrop+handoff starts to misbehave. I can airdrop from my phone to my hack, but from my hack it will not work. I have searched for solutions but no avail (i did use bluetoolfixup but the issue still persists) so I have to downgrade back to BigSur. After downgrading from Big Sur to Mojave successfully, there are apps in Applications folder which I am not allowed to delete since they are "required by MacOS," even though they display an error message if I try to open them. Examples are "News.app" and "Voice Memos.app." Also their preference.plists cannot be deleted for the same displayed reason. Hey, when I try to screen share an application, it gives me a note that sharing audio might not work on my version, and I had to upgrade to 10.14. The official Discord FAQ however states that even with 10.13, under Settings -> Voice & Video, there should be a prompt asking me to install additional software. This prompt doesn't appear.
