So I finally decided to build! I had asked in a previous post whether to buy or build a Mac, and thanks to your great answers, I have decided to build. I really appreciate all the great viewpoints I got and I think that I’ve made the right decision. In any case I have no experience building computers, but all the time and patience to do it right, so I’d really appreciate it if some of you could take the time to go over this parts list and give me some advice. This computer will be used for iOS development, but not serious development (which is why I went for the hackintosh) , 3D CAD programs such as Solidworks and some Autodesk applications such as Inventor, as well as some video editing. My budget is around $700-$800 USD without a keyboard mouse and monitor. I’ll put the list here and explain some of the choices I made below.

The biggest questions I have are concerning the GPU. Is it powerful enough to do what I’d like? From the research I have done it seems like it is, but thanks to crypto currency miners I can’t really buy something like a 1060 at a reasonable price.
I also chose the i5 6600 and sacrificed 0.2 GHz of processing power for the included CPU cooler, and to save a little money. I do not plan on overclocking this build so this seems like the right decision.
Are there any parts that are better or more importantly, cheaper?
I was also wondering if I should buy Skylake or Kaby Lake chips, especially with Kaby Lake support probably right on the horizon with High Sierra. The limiting factor for Kaby Lake at the moment seems to be the motherboards and their BIOS settings, so at this point what do you guys recommend for that?
Lastly, and most importantly, does this look like a golden build? I would hate to drop this amount of money on a machine that only half works. I’m away and only have my phone now, and I’ll be able to research more similar builds to check compatibility once I get home, but if anyone can look at my list and say definitively yes or no that would be great.
I know this is a ton, but any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
