gIOScreenLockState error on first boot

Hey all, I followed /u/corpnewt's vanilla guide exactly, installed macOS and restarted, and now the boot hangs on the error IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions. I am doing this with an i5 4690k and the Asrock Z97 Fatal1ty motherboard, as well as an Asus Strix GTX 970
