I was looking at the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, but the price went up on that board, encouraging me to look elsewhere. The price would be $110 USD providing that I manage to get a reportedly unreliable rebate. The other option that looks pretty good is the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura, for $130 with a slight hardware upgrade from the other board on Amazon. Is that a good choice for a build? I’ve heard that there are other, more compatible motherboards out there, such as some from Gigabyte.
For a first time builder like me, the Asus board seems like a perfect pick, especially with the simple BIOS menus, but if there are any other ATX boards that might be more recommended, or even better, cheaper, I’d really appreciate the advice before I pull the trigger. Thanks for the help!
