I made a parts list over at https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v8LngL which will replace my 2015 macbook pro.
- CPU: i7-6700K
- Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5
- RAM: 32GB Ballistix Sport LT
- SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280
- HDD: 2TB Seagate.
- GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1060
- PSU: Corsair RMx 650W
- Wifi: TP-Link (TL-WDN4800)
However, I've read that using a M.2 with a Hackintosh needs extra drivers post-installation, would it mean it will be unusable as a system drive?
When I've looked at regular SATA SSD drives, none was capable over 1000MB/s which felt like a big downgrade.
