Some things I have noticed after being on discord for a week

So, I recently joined the discord chat. Though I am not the most knowledgeable person out there (there are plenty of those types on there already, like corpnewt and others), I always try and help people. I am seeing a lot of the same issues and I am hoping that someone will read this it will make sense to them.

Here are some things to consider when beginning the journey to hackintoshing your computer

1) SOME basic understand of computers and operating systems in needed. If you lack this but are fairly intelligent and can take advise and commands, that will suffice.

2) You have to be patient. It will not all work the first time ever. Also, being nice and cordial is a plus. Your hurry isn't more important than anyone else's hurry. No one wants to help an rude or impatient person.

3) Come into a conversation armed with information. What motherboard and processor do you have? Who makes the network adapter? What is the audio codec? The Chipset? Basic information helps.

4) Any laptop or notebook is going to be inherently tougher to hack. Someone else may know why this is, but this seems to be a thing.

5) HAVE A BACKUP PLAN! Maybe some spare blank USB drives, blank DVD's, something. This ain't magic. If you lack resources it can be a hassle. Consider a fall back or back-up plan. Trying to make your problems and drama someone else's will not go over well. Be willing to be innovative and resourceful.

6) If you wanna use unibeast and multibeast, just know tonymacx86 also has forums. Most around here prefer the vanilla method. You aren't less of a person for wanting an easy way out. It is fine to start small and work your way into understanding. I totally get that people want things to just work, but that place doesn't live in hackintosh land. Anyways, just know that you are putting an OS on unsupported hardware.

7) If you use an alternative or distro, you are barking up the wrong tree by asking for advice. Go to the place where you got it. Also know that when someone else makes their version, there is no telling what they put in there. No help will be given for that stuff.

8) While you need to be patient and understanding, sometimes there is just too much to overcome or it just won't happen. Running Linux is not a death sentence. A computer should work for you and do what you need it to. There are tons of options out there. Becoming an advanced linux user is actually RESUME MATERIAL. Trust.

9) Buying a real mac has merit. Apple makes great products. You can always get something good second hand. They are expensive and hold value because they are good.

10) When buying or building, do so with compatibility in mind. If you want to blaze a trail with your setup, that is fine too.
