So I successfully installed Hight Sierra in my Coffee Lake + ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming build and I'm currently using the integrated Wi-Fi on Windows (gaming) and the Ethernet port when using High Sierra, the thing is that I'm going to move to a place where there isn't any Ethernet cables available so I'll need to connect to Internet over Wi-Fi.
I decided to bought an TP-Link WDN4800 N900 because it is supported by default but macOS won't recognize it, so I switched to windows to test the card out and didn't have any success either. I thought the card wasn't ok so I returned it and bought a TP-Link Archer T9E but the problem didn't go away. My card isn't recognized at all, neither on Windows nor on High Sierra. On windows the default driver prompts me to insert a card to install the driver and inside the device manager there isn't any card recognized. I think it might be a problem with my BIOS config.
Please help, I have the following hardware:
Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming (with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080TI OC plugged in on the first PCIEx 16 slod RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2X8GB) on DIMMS A1 & A2 (That was the only thing that let me install High Sierra, don't ask why) Wi-Fi Card: TP-Link AC1900 Archer T9E plugged in the second PCIx1 (Doesn't fit in the first one....)
My BIOS settings are:
Exit → Load Optimized Defaults : Yes Advanced \ System Agent(SA) Configuration → Vt-d : Disabled Advanced \ PCH Configuration → IOAPIC 24-119 Entries : Enabled Advanced \ APM Configuration → Power On By PCI-E/PCI : Disabled Advanced \ Network Stack Configuration → Network Stack : Disabled Advanced \ USB Configuration → Legacy USB Support : Auto Boot → Fast Boot : Disabled Boot → Secure Boot → OS Type : Other OS Boot → CSM : Disabled Advanced \ System Agent(SA) Configuration → Primary Display : Auto Advanced \ System Agent(SA) Configuration → iGPU Multi-Monitor : Enabled
I'm pretty sure is a mobo problem but don't know how to solved it
