I had a brainwave of an idea where you use a toggle switch to power the SSD and OS you want, and only it boots.
A quick google gave me this post form back in 2009, proving it does and can work.
But back in 2009 there was no such thing as SSD's let alone an M.2 SSD. My question is this: would this work if I had Windows on my M.2 and OSX on a normal SSD and toggle the power to the SSD? Surely i just put the OSX SSD as first in the boot order and when its powered it boots first, and when it is not powered the M.2 with windows boots as normal?
This would be the tipping point for me to try Hackintosh as a Dual Boots boot menu always put me off. After my 2010 macbook pro died recently id really like this idea to work. Has anyone tried this? I'm very interested to see if anyone has done this with the sort of setup I'm talking about.
Just read the sidebar here are my specs:
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, Intel i5 6600k @ 4.5ghz, MSI GTX 1080ti Founders Edition, Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3000MHz , Samsung EVO 960 250GB M.2, OCZ 240GB SSD, WD 4TB HDD.
