Formated macOS drive, but my kext are still on the drive after reinstalling?!?

Hello! I’m look for help. I can’t explain what has happened at all. I installed macOS earlier this week made some mistakes and decided to do a fresh install. We’ll that didn’t go as I had expected. During the installer I formated my ssd before installing and then continued with the install. It all worked fine. Then when I went to go copy my efi folder I decide to check inside before copying. I’m glad I did. My kext files were still there. I don’t understand why disk Utility didn’t actually erase everything off of my drive. I suppose I will end up trying again, but maybe formatting the drive through terminal this time.

System information MOBO Gigabyte H170N wifi CPU 7700K RAM 16gb GPU Vega 64 PSU 850w Wifi/Bt BCM94352Z

All have been the most recent version of high sierra. I have gotten everything to work, but I have had issues with my Bluetooth. I have a supported card.

Before formatting my drive again I would appreciate getting advice from you all.

Advice about the bluetooth and wifi card is welcome as well. I got wifi working perfectly, but bluetooth just shows up and won’t connect to anything..

Thanks!
