Problem
Last night I was playing around with system preferences and decided to enable FileVault on a whim.
I have never used it before nor did I realize there were extra steps needed to work on Hackintoshes.
I shut down my computer (pretty sure the encryption did not even complete for my 512 gb SSD in that amount of time).
When I booted up this morning, I lost the option to boot from my main disk. I tried booting from FireVault, but that led to a black screen.
Attempts
I have tried this solution but ran into the following error on step 6:
$ diskutil apfs decryptVolume disk1s1
I was prompted to enter my passphrase, then I got the following two lines:
Starting background decryption of disk1s1 using the "Disk" crypto user as authorization Error starting background decryption of APFS Volume: The APFS Volume must be unlocked prior to decryption (-69506)
I also noticed that my main disk was not mounted.
I followed these steps to mount it, and then tried the above command again, but was met with the same error.
I also tried restarting and booting to FileVault after mounting the disk, but it was still a black screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
