Which laptop to buy?

I will be moving out for college and need to get a laptop. I am very broke and can't buy a decent macbook.

Need your help on what laptop to get for hackingtosh build ? I am a coder ( at least that what my parents think). I will like to have 4 cores and 8 gbs of rams will do and a sad for boot. Willing to spend around $1200.
