Hackintosh Stuck In A Mac OS High Sierra Installation Loop

This is my second hackintosh build and I’ve hit a frustrating wall.

Parts List:

•CPU - Core i9-9900k

•CPU Cooler - Corsair H60

•Motherboard - Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi

•RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (32gb)

•GPU -Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB

•Case - Fractal Design Focus G

•SSD - Samsung 860 EVO (500GB)

What happens:

•I have the installation thumb drive all built and plugged in.

•Start up and Clover pops up immediately.

•I format (As Mac OS Journaled) the SSD and name it “High Sierra” for installation.

•I go to ‘Install Mac OS X’.

•Click install and it goes ahead.

•Afterwards it auto restarts.

•Clover pops up again, as I’d expect.

•A very slow wall of white text on black will scroll by.

This takes much longer than it normally takes to start a hackintosh up.

•Apple logo appears and progress Barr zooms on by.

•Then the screen goes right back to the ‘Install Mac OS X’ screen.

\insert frustrated grumbles**

When I clicked “Start Up Disk”, it only shows me the thumb drive.

When I hit F12 on startup,

it shows my SSD,

the boot loader thumb drive,

and a partition on the thumbdrive that I don’t recall ever making.

Did I miss something when I installed the OS?

Should rebuild the thumb drive?

Any help would be appreciated in solving this mystery.
