Menubar icon overlap

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but I've had an issue ever since upgrading to mojave with my old monitor 1280x1024 (portrait) monitor which I use as a secondary display on my main machine. My primary display is wide enough that there's never been an issue, but with certain applications I experience the following graphical glitch in the menubar:

Now the first issue I've got is that I don't know if this is a software issue related to my MacOS install, or an issue related to my hackintosh hardware (it was fine from memory before Mojave when I was rocking a GTX 750Ti. Have ditched that in favor of the i5-4690k's iGPU which Mojave is more than happy to run on). The second, obviously, is how to go about fixing it. I can't find anything with my google searching skills, so I wonder if anybody else has had a similar issue? It doesn't appear to be widespread :/
