I've been messing with a Dell Latitude E 5540. I finally got the keyboard and trackpad more stable. But to make tinkering easier I decreased the resolution from 1900x1080 to the next lowest one (1600x something directly from System Preferences - - > Display). Now when I boot right from the hard drive it loads in verbose mode but eventually goes to a screen where I see some quick horizontal lines and no video. If I reboot and choose Reset NVRAM, that works for trackpad issues, but does nothing for video. At least with Clover you could add temporary flags to test stuff and get In to MacOS with temp settings. Is there a way to do something similar with OpenCore at the boot menu? Do I need to hook up an external monitor to change the settings? Is it essential to have a second hard drive with Windows on it to make the changes in ProperTree when stuff like this happens? The title says it all, even though I update every file in BOOT, OC/Drivers, OC/Tools and OC/OpenCore.efi, when I boot it says that I have 0.6.4 even when I update to 0.6.8 with the files that I wrote. Hello! I have managed to install Big Sur with OpenCore. (I tried multiple OS X versions, with the same results) This issue happens before installation though (as well as after). After the boot picker, the kernel runs, spits out text and eventually my display will go blank and lose signal. I'm using integrated graphics, no dGPU. My motherboard (see bottom of post for specs) has both a DisplayPort and a DVI port. I tried a DVI monitor and I was able to completely get to the Apple logo and follow the install procedure, but my DP monitor refuses to show anything. I tried running both monitors and I noticed my DP monitor goes blank a little before the Apple logo shows, while text is still being printed. (I'm guessing from the kernel) I did look into iGPU patching through WhateverGreen and I did try patching the connector-types to DP, but that didn't seem to do anything. I got a little lost when reading about bus ID patching, so I haven't tried that yet. My instinct is...

I had been running fine on Catalina with OC 0.6.7 and had a secondary SSD drive that I had been using for testing Big Sur as well as new releases of Premiere and Resolve. Things were looking pretty stable, so I decided to take the plunge and update my primary SSD to Big Sur. Everything seemed fine. The update went smoothly and I started playing around remotely (screen sharing in from my wife's MacBook Air from downstairs) and I accidentally clicked "Remote Management". That's when things went to hell. The screen share closed and when I tried to reconnect, it prompted me for a username and password. None of the permutations I typically use would work. When I went back upstairs to the system itself, I could no longer use a keyboard plugged into any of the USB ports. I managed to turn off Remote Management by taking the SSD out of that system, and booting to it on my newer Z490/10850K system (a saga unto itself) with the appropriate EFI folder. Hi at all I succesfully installed bigsur 11.2 with OpenCore 6.8 and the lastest Kext. My configuration is: CPU 5950x GPU RX6900XT RAM 32GB SSD SATA I try to update to the lastest official patch 11.3, but after 3 restart BigSur not go to the desktop but stop earlier without big error (only error from the power on rx6900xt) but go forward. I read that on the 11.3 update, the rx6xxx card not boot even in vesa mode, but on the 11.4 Beta1 the support for this card is inserted. I subscribe to the apple beta program but from the 11.2 I didn't find the beta update Now my question: Is the 11.4 Beta 1 release to public? In Big Sur 11.3 the macOS kernel was updated, and the algrey patch to force the Penryn CPUID no longer applies properly, causing a panic during boot for CPUs that don't support AVX2 (and probably AMD CPUs that were relying on this patch to look like Intel CPUs). Here is the deal. I have a pc with an i7 3960x 6 core 12 thread cpu (around ryzen 5 1600 performance), 32gb ddr3 1600mhz cl9 ram, an nvme ssd (works on x79 through modded bios) and a gtx 970. Because I have an nvidia gpu I have to use a kvm. I also have an m1 macbook air with 16gb ram and 8 core gpu. I just finished up making a usb installer to make a hackintosh but when I boot into the mac os base system through Open Core and it goes to the recovery screen, the mouse keeps skipping and the keyboard doesn't work at all. The iOS .ipa can only be uploaded to the app store through a Mac os machine .
