Just wanna share my first experience when trying to install MacOS @ my windows laptop

Summarry : yes it is hard, but it worth the effort. If you dont want to have pain just go grab real apple product.

Alright, here is the real context.

I would like to say, this process will take about 4 steps / levels :

  • The Passion (intro - or smh like that)
  • Pre install
  • Install
  • Post install
  • Experience on using (not on levels)

first level : passion. At this point i just want to install MacOS @ my laptop, and i thought it's just as easy as installing windows. I was wrong. I remember at this point i just applying my friend changes, i dont even do anything ( he tried to make my EFI) and nah, nothing works. My work is just to list down the specs, such as audio codec, wifi card etc. I learned zero and gained zero.

Second level : Pre install. This point is where i know how to make x work at MacOS. Lets say ethernet, i need the RTL8111 kext to make it works. Do the same for other part and the second level is pretty much done.

Third level : install. This is the point that i have headache and dumbness. I Tried the inet install from dortania guide but my inet is just too slow. So i tried to use the .raw file from olarila. Y'know what, i erased the bootx64.efi . Shiet, i am laughing when writing this. Thats a good point to know, dont erase X if you are not supposed to. Just erase it if you need to erase it. took ~5 months to know that dumbness. Waste of time.

Last level : post install. Well you can mention it, USB mapping, AppleALC, etc. just took me 1 month to do it. I wanna try the manual (or 1 key) HiDPI but its mojave, not working on mojave.
Last level #2 : I leave some features not working because i dont need it (such as apple services). Fair enough to me.

Experience on using this machine : So far so good, nothing wrong. But my dumba** thought everything will be close enough to windows. Thats a very bad mindset. Anyway, i enjoy it. Everything that will work like sh** on windows works good.

Summary and conclution : yes it is hard, but it worth the effort. If you dont want to have pain just go grab real apple product.
