I wanted to upgrade from Ventura to Sonoma (may be spelled wrong) I downloaded it yesterday, downloaded the latest OCLP, made the usb, started the install and it seems to have fully installed, but won’t boot. The apple logo shows up and the progress bar loads to like 5% mark and won’t go any farther? Any tips or ideas on what to try? Hello, I am interested in building my first hackintosh. I already have a PC with a Ryzen 7 5800X, and a 3060Ti. However the 3060Ti isn’t supported by macOS. Due to this, I’m gonna make a dual GPU setup. One for Windows (3060Ti), and one for macOS. I need help deciding whether to spend $70 USD on a RX580 or $115 on a RX5500XT that’s new. I won’t be doing any heavy GPU tasks on macOS so that’s why I’m fine with getting one of those cards. If there’s any other GPU’s anyone recommends up to $115 please let me know. Hello, posting this for guidance and possibly to help others: Despite reinstalling several times this is the only glitch on a otherwise fairly successful and fast working Sonoma install on a MacBook Air with only 4gb of RAM...When the screen goes to sleep the Lock Screen would not recognize any input, and just cycle through the login screen repeatedly. I would have to force a restart. Workaround is to change in Settings to "Login Window shows" Name and Password, rather than List of Users. Still get the attached 'login window quit unexpectedly' but at least I don't have to force a restart. Anyone got any way to stop this? Just based on past glitches with some software, I am wondering if it is due to getting the Canadian keyboard set up due to region - I have tried repeatedly to force it to only have US keyboard but despite deleting the Canadian keyboard, forcing only English - US as language, I still see "Canadian" on the Lock Screen. Just a theory. ...

Malwarebytes-Mac-4.21.9.5141 wont open after a reboot. After reboot errors "Something went wrong" message. Hi All, After creating several Ryzentosh hacks, I decided to create a 'new' hack as a gift to my parents. My experience with hackintoshing in the past has been relatively smooth as all my Ryzentoshes have worked with very little to no hassle. Maybe a bit naive, but I expected that this built would be a lot easier since it is an Intel system. Well that was not the case. Hi All, am testing macOS Sonoma on i7 7700 + RX 570 + 16gigs DDR4 ram, B250m-d3h mobo + SATA ssd. Pretty much all stuffs working, with few exceptions, like audio from HDMI I cannot control, also external wifi dongle support issues (Cudy based on realtek 8812bu). But thats not a problem, i will fix it. Thing is, I find it kinda sluggish, like settings menu is slow, everything loading bit slower. So should I consider lower macOS for stable fluid performance, or something to do with graphics card settings and stuffs to check and fix performance? I will casually use finalcut pro and some other stuffs, not professionally. ​ system information I finally decided to replace my old RX 480 8GB with an RX 6600 XT with Metal 3. I thought the upgrade would be simple, but it took me a few hours of trying everything possible so I decided to share my experience with you. I thought that just adding agdpmod=pikera to nvram would be enough, as much as I was wrong, this only solved the boot loop, but there was another problem and that was that after the Apple logo I had a black screen. Solution: Add: agdpmod=pikera Remove: debug=0x100 keepsyms=1 Replace SMBIOS: iMac19,1 -> MacPro7,1 Reinstall macOS to the same drive via recovery. A quick search online has found that this was an issue previously. The solution was to disable FeatureUnlock in Opencore settings, rebuild, rewrite Opencore to disk and reboot. I’m posting this see if there is a fix that doesn’t require a rebuild. I’ve been using my computer without issue for six weeks, so Eve fact that this is suddenly an issue is odd. I’m hoping there is a simple fix. It takes me at least a day to rebuild and then set up my machine (download and reinstall all of my apps, set up launchpad, menu bar customisation etc.), as my machine is older. OpenCore Newbie Here, just completed successful Mojave -> Monterrey upgrade on Mac Pro 5,1 using OCLP, it was hard (for me). After a failed install with 480 without using AMD GOP Injection, I selected AMD GOP injection. This install worked, with GOP injection selected. But now, when OCLP offers to patch the internal disk , OCLP proposes a build WITHOUT AMD GOP injection. Is this just what OCLP does by default, or does it know something I do not about my system ??? OCLP correctly identifies GPU make and model ,architecture (Polaris), metal capability (yes), etc. I am torn between : do what already worked (AMD GOP Injection), OR go with OCLP's suggestion (No GOP Injection.) But I've already been burned once by attempted install without the injection. What should I do? Hey all, got my install, connected to the Internet. But when I tried to connect my apple id, I got an error saying "xxx_xxx_unavailable_me" or something like that, I've walked away from my computer cause I couldn't get it sorted. I read that it could be that I had to fix my SMBIOS setup. So I was trying to do that with GenSMBIOS. Trying to validate serials was not straight forward. I never got the message the guide mentions. Just 'enter a valid serial number' or finding a real, in use, serial number. I assume the 'enter a valid serial number' is the expected result. I updated my plist, but when I relaunched my install, I got the same error. The computer does end up showing in 'My Devices' so I've had to remove it a couple times and try again.
