[Help] Issue with macOS Root Patching – “SystemVersion.plist build version mismatch” error

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to apply root patches using OpenCore Legacy Patcher, but I’m running into the following error and can’t proceed:

vbnetCopyEdit- Running sanity checks before patching - SystemVersion.plist build version mismatch: found 15.3.2 (24D81), expected 15.4 (24E248) An update is in progress on your machine and patching cannot continue until it is cancelled or finished - Unmounting root volume - Failed sanity checks, cannot continue with patching Please ensure that you do not have any updates... 

What I’ve tried:

• Restarted the Mac – no change.
• Checked Software Update – it says there are no available updates, but apparently an update is still “in progress.”
• I’m not sure how to cancel or finish this pending update that’s blocking the patcher.

System info:

• macOS Sonoma 15.3.2
• Build: 24D81
• I’m trying to patch for better support on an older Mac (GPU-related issue).
• Using OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

Question: Has anyone encountered this error before? Is there a way to cancel or clean up the pending update so I can proceed with patching?
