How far should I upgrade a 2015 air?

I just got an old macbook air for a project, and when I'm done I want to upgrade it to a current OS. I've heard some have issues going all the way to Sequoia on this computer, so I want to know what experiences others I've had. This is an 8gb model with a dual core intel i5
