Hi, I've been introduced to the Mac world a week ago when I was given away a 13" MacBook Air 2017 in great condition except for the battery, which was just replaced with one from ifixit as the original was dead. The version running was Monterey but I did read about OpenCore Legacy Patcher. I updated to Sonoma and it seemed to work smoothly except that the battery drained faster than I would like (although I know the replacement battery is not going to be as reliable as the original one). Then I read some users here claiming that this model runs smoother with Sequoia than with Sonoma, but I've upgraded and in my experience is noticeably laggier and the battery goes down at the same pace or even slighly faster. I've always disabled Cloud, Siri, Bluetooth, AirDrop and other features than can be heavy on the battery).
Am I doing anything wrong? I upgraded to Sequoia using OCLP but straight from Sonoma, I didn't go back to Monterey as a mid step. Could that change anything?
Should I revert to a previous version?
What's the best MacOs version for this model?
