MultiBeast: Install Your Drivers [ Basic Guide ]
Image
To do this you're going to need to load the Lion version of MultiBeast that you downloaded earlier.  Open that up, click through the install windows, and get to the options page (which should be familiar to you at this point). Here's a look at all your choices and what they do, using our sample build as a guide: EasyBeast Install - If your are a noob, this is your first try :) UserDSDT Install - This is the option that applies your custom DSDT, but seeing as we took care of that earlier you don't need to check it now. System Utilities - It's always a good idea to check System Utilities as it repairs permissions, runs maintenance scripts, and other helpful stuff like that. Drivers & Bootloaders - This is the section where you'll be making most of your decisions. You'll have your pick from an array of hardware drivers that will allow everything from audio to Ethernet to function on your hackintosh. All you really need to do is go through this...

Mac OS X 10.4.4 "Tiger" MSI Wind running Mac OS X On January 10, 2006, Apple released Mac OS X 10.4.4 with the first generation of Intel-based Macs, the iMac and the MacBook Pro. These machines used Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) platform firmware instead of the legacy BIOS found on most x86 motherboards. On February 14, 2006, an initial "hack" of Mac OS X v10.4.4 was released on the Internet by a programmer with the pseudonym crg92. [14] Within hours Apple released the 10.4.5 update, [15] which was patched again by the same author within two weeks. [16] On April 3, 2006 Apple released their 10.4.6 update [17] and again patches were released within two weeks that allowed users to install most of this update on non-Apple computers, although this did not include the updated kernel in 10.4.6. In June, the hackers released the 10.4.7 Mac OS X update for non-Apple computers using the 10.4.4 kernel. Up to the release of the 10.4.8 update, all OSx86 patches use...

Some causes of Kernel Panics
Image
Kernel panics are often caused by one or more of the following issues. Defective or incompatible RAM often causes of kernel panics. Despite being a highly-reliable product, RAM can fail. Modern operating systems, like Mac OS X, are sensitive to RAM. Purchase additional RAM from either Apple or third parties who guarantee their RAM is compatible with Mac OS X, offer a liberal exchange policy, and provide a lifetime warranty should the RAM become defective or a later version of Mac OS X introduce incompatibilities. Incompatible, obsolete, or corrupted kernel extensions. If a third-party kernel extension or one of its dependencies is incompatible or obsolete with respect to the version of Mac OS X you are using, kernel panics may occur when the kernel executes such extensions. Likewise, if a kernel extension or one of its dependencies is corrupted, such as the result of hard disk corruption, kernel panics are likely to occur when the kernel attempts to load or execute such. Incompatible, ...

ATI card with 10.7.2 [ SOLUTION ]

Tested on ATI RadeonMobile 4570 SOLUTION 1-4: Try this on your org.chameleon.boot.plist : <code> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v npci=0x2000 arch=X86_64 PCIRoot=1</string> </code> The -v flag is just for maintenance. I am booting here as 64 bits as you can see. If 64 bits is not feasible for you change the X86_64 part for i386. Also, check in Verbose if your boot is KP in another item (in this case AppleHDA was KP too) SOLUTION 2-4: Use the ATI4600 and all ATiX2000 kext and bundle from 10.7 SOLUTION 3-4 Use kextcache load on boot manually. *this is usually used if my string on org.chameleon.Boot.plist key for UseKernelCache value sets to  No  To do that, simply open Terminal on Applications --> Utility folder, input this command as root  steps : a. Login as root, type :  sudo -s  and press enter or return. it will ask you password, give your mac use...

Build your own ATI personality for better ATI Radeon HD [45xx] support
Image
To enable native QE graphics output on an ATI graphics adapter, you always need a framebuffer. Either a pre-definded framebuffer can be used, or you can patch an existing one to match your graphics adapter's configuration of DVI/HDMI/VGA/Displayport. Under OSX the ATI driver uses a hard-coded set of personalities to define some of the video card's capabilities, most notably the connector layout. This is sufficient to support the limited number of configurations that Apple ships, but leads to non-working monitors (black displays) in many hackintosh configurations. Users have limited success & limited functionality by simply guessing which hard-coded personality best matches their video card. Some prerequisites: Installation of OSX Developer tools (for examining personalities with otools) Somewhat working install of ATI radeon HD[45]xx card with Kabyl's chameleon branch: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231768 Understanding of hex editing Ability to tr...
