Not sure how to achieve this. I want to install Windows 10 on an installed SSD. I already have Sierra running on a separate installed HDD and want to keep this in working order. Thanks :-) submitted by /u/PGAdmin [link] [comments] [► Source]
Budget Hackintosh Build
Image
Hello Everyone, I'm new to the hackintosh world and I'm normally a PC user, but I wanted a cheap hackintosh to be used for: Internet Browsing Atleast 1080p Streaming iMessage & other OSX features Light video editing The post was inspired by the recent $70 hackintosh build on youtube and that'll be great if I can replicate a build like that with local deals. I'm looking more for pre-built workstations I just don't know what is OSX compatible. submitted by /u/Kentai96 [link] [comments] [► Source]
Trying to update to El Capitan (can't download Sierra) Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Image
current system https://imgur.com/a/9Ocuu I actually was very fluent in this stuff back around 10.5. I had a fully working Dell laptop. Then I did the mulitbeast/clover USB Lion install on this custom desktop I built. It worked so good I just left it, and I mostly use the windows side for actual work (autocad). Didn't want to screw with a stable build. But it's got to the point where flash can't be updated, and many websites won't load. I can't seem to even load the usb installer. get the "can't find mach_kernal" error. I used this method to make the usb https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/unibeast-install-os-x-el-capitan-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.172672/ Also, I get random kernel panics just trying to get back into this build, probably from messing with the BIOS. Any help is greatly appreciated tl;dr Can't boot into El Capitan USB installer submitted by /u/riteclique [link] [comments] [► Source]

Can Anyone Explain CSM to Me?
Image
Mobo: ASUS Z170 Pro CPU: i7-6700k GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GD5T OC OS: 10.13 Supplemental SSD: Samsung 950 250GB - APFS format FileVault2: Enabled Because I'm using a dual monitor setup, I want to disable CSM on my BIOS (since it sends the output to the wrong monitor), but my hackintosh won't even reach the FileVault2 password screen if I disable it. I've enabled -v and nothing shows up. It doesn't crash... it just goes black and nothing happens. I've obviously tried it with CsmVideoDxe uninstalled. I've got a vanilla install with FakeSMC, AppleALC, IntelMausiEthernet, Lilu, NVidiaGraphicsFixup, USBInjectAll and CodecCommander in kexts. My hack is – as you may have guessed – a UEFI (non legacy) installation. So what is it that I'm using which requires CSM to boot my computer? submitted by /u/floodlitworld [link] [comments] [► Source]
Can't boot from Sierra drive

Managed to use unibeast to make a sierra drive that shows up when I boot my computer. However, when I click on it, it just shows either the white cross or a blank loading bar. My specs are GTX 1070, i5 6500, MSI gaming m3 motherboard and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. submitted by /u/sashley520 [link] [comments] [► Source]
Apple Denies Rumor That It Had Been Trying to Embed Touch ID Under the iPhone X Display
Image
Apple SVP Dan Ricco says the company spent no time looking at integrating Touch ID 'on the back or through the glass or on the side' of the iPhone X in an interview with TechCrunch. The toughest challenge Apple had with the new smartphone was replace Touch ID, notes Riccio. "It was very, very hard. If we were going to replace it we wanted to replace it with something that was at the end of the day both better and more natural." Riccio's statement contradicts numerous rumors leading up to the unveiling of the iPhone X. Having some trouble with suspend + GPU performance issues
Image
Hi I've installed 10.13 recently. So far I love the look and feel of Mac OS. It's much better than Windows. The installation itself wasn't all that hard after some research. The problem is I've got a couple of bugs that I can't resolve. Did some research but nothing helpful came up. First my hardware: I7-6600 Asrock H197M-Pro4 Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB DDR4 512 GB Samsung SSD ALC 892 Kexts + UEFIDrivers: https://pastebin.com/LZkis1J9 APFS Suspend works but introduces a high load on my CPU / GPU so that everything is laggy and keystrokes are repeated randomly. The only fix is a reboot. Steam doesn't show any text. What's going on here? Firefox is very laggy on certain instances. Disabled the GPU acceleration and now I can see some pages that wouldn't work before. It's still not perfect, e.g. google maps is unusable. Also there are some glitches while playing video on Firefox. Chrome doesn't have that issue. Scrolling on Adium is very laggy. Would appr...
Netflix with Safari on High Sierra
Image
I don't know what's going on, exactly. It was working perfectly on 10.12.6. However, I can't play Netflix videos anymore through Safari on High Sierra. I get error code S7353. I'm also getting "A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded" when loading some pages. This doesn't happen often, though. submitted by /u/AndreLuisOS [link] [comments] [► Source]
Is vp9 codec supported in a Mac or hackintosh?
Image
I have full hw acceleration across, but I noticed only vp9 which is not. For quick sync hw decode I use my skylake igpu alongside gtx 1070. I was wondering if it’s a Mac thing not supporting the codec or is it my hackintosh which needs additional setup submitted by /u/ZOMGsheikh [link] [comments] [► Source]
Apple is Designing iPhones and iPads for Next Year That Don't Use Qualcomm Modems [Report]
Image
Apple is designing iPhones and iPads for next year that drop Qualcomm's components entirely, reports the WSJ. The two companies are in the midst of what will likely be a lengthy legal battle over Qualcomm's licensing practices. A source tells WSJ that Apple is considering building future devices with modem chips from Intel and possibly MediaTek because Qualcomm has withheld software that is critical to testing its chips in Apple's prototypes. The company allegedly stopped sharing the software after Apple filed a lawsuit against Qualcomm in January. Apple already uses modems from Intel in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, utilizing Qualcomm's for just the CDMA version; however, Intel has unveiled a new XMM7650 modem which supports Gigabit LTE, GSM and CDMA. Got iMessage to work... sort of.
Image
So I've been trying to get iMessage to work all day, and I finally did. Only problem is that it's not my account. The account I got working was my parents account. It won't let me log in with my account. I tried even making a new Apple ID, and that didn't work either. Any ideas why? Thanks! submitted by /u/hirsh15 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Existing Ryzen 5 1500x Windows PC
Image
Hey Guys, I've been really considering dual booting my existing Windows 10 build and making it a OS X/Windows 10 PC. Ignoring the fact that I have an AMD system for now, I read somewhere, cant remember where, that said that I would have to unistall windows, then install OS X, and then reinstall windows, however, i would like to avoid that if possible. would i be able to install OS X onto a seperate internal SSD and make that my boot drive, then use that to boot into windows? Hard drive crash and reboots for no reason
Image
With one SSD attached the system consistently freezes after about 4-5 minutes of use. Using Windows on the same machine, it's completely stable. I'm not sure how to diagnose this issue. Any ideas would be welcome. This Hackintosh has stable for some time and I haven't upgraded since El Capitan. The hard disk is formatted with both mac and pc partitions, both of which have systems installed.. not sure if that's related. Maybe it's finding something on their while indexing and somehow there's a conflict? submitted by /u/newandgood [link] [comments] [► Source]
