Newb install of Big Sur/OC on I7/zx97/nvidia 780ti. Can't get 2nd monitor running
Image
Im actually surprised how easy this was so far, however I've run into a couple of problems. The primary one being that I can't get the 2nd monitor running (plugged into the same GPU) Im not sure if the GPU even has drivers, so that might be a thing, but I can't find any information on how to load them in Big Sur. There is so much conflicting info that im not sure what end is up at this point. if anyone could give me a hand and point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful. [OC 0.7.0] Slow Hackintosh after installation
Image
Hello everyone, I managed to install macOS Big Sur on my ThinkPad P14s, I followed the Dortania guide. After installation, I followed this https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/pm.html I found that my Hackintosh was getting laggy and the cooling is getting noisy a few minutes after boot. I think it is a power management problem. If it helps here are some screenshots of the CPU usage , IOService and Kexts, and SSDT folder. Specs of my laptop are the followed : CPU : I7 10510U iGPU : UHD 630 dGPU : NVIDIA Quadro P520 (disabled) WiFi / BT : Intel AX201 Smbios : MacBookPro 16,1 Thanks for your help ! submitted by /u/PaulEau101 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Cheaper WIFI Card

Hey Guys, i am searching for the cheapest option to use Airdrop on my Ryzen Hackintosh. I guess this is a frequently asked question, but im just not an expert in this whole WIFI/Airport thing and just don't understand most of the tips given. I don't really care about the the WIFI itself, because i manly use LAN. The Card should be compatible with Big Sur, and hopfully it works with the upcoming versions. Can't boot from BigSur clone drive, EFI ok!
Image
I can't boot from the clone I did from ssd to nvme of my BigSur 11.4 system. I formated GUID AFPS, copied everything with last CCC version (6.0.1 demo) and manually copied the old EFI folder with OpenCore to the new one . The EFI is fine, I know because I can choose the nvme drive to boot, but when OC opens It don't show the system in the clone nvme, only in the old ssd that boots fine and reset PRAM. Any ideas? submitted by /u/afinotti [link] [comments] [► Source]
Which is the correct SMBIOS for Catalina + Sandy Bridge + RX580 using Clover?
Image
Hi everybody! I have been using iMac 14,2 for over a year, but could never generate an SSDT because Piker Alpha's ssdtPRGen script gave me a "board-id not supported by Sandy Bridge" error. Recently, when helping me troubleshoot Bluetooth issues, Edhawk suggested that I was using the wrong SMBIOS. I have now changed it to MacPro6,1. Everything seems to be working allright, but the SSDT script still gives me the same error. ¿Should I use another SMBIOS for my config? ¿If I am using the correct... OpenCore boot mac OS faild after modify config.plist
Image
At first, I simply want to turn-off SIP for some personal use, and now I couldn't boot into mac OS after what I have done below: Config.plist > nvram section > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 > csr-active-config change value from 00000000 to 70000000 via OpenCore configurator Reboot and selete reset nvram After that, I found the whole opencore boot section was gone, but then I take these steps to bring them back Using bootice tool under windows and create a new boot, path: \EFI\BOOT\BOOTx64.efi or \OC\OpenCore.efi Even though I get my opencore boot section back and it seems like everything was back in the way it was, but seleting boot macOS only gives me a reboot. Does anyone got into this issue? Could you guys give me some advise about how to solve this? Thanks!!! submitted by /u/Ebbnason [link] [comments] [► Source]

VP9 hardware decoding on Big Sur
Image
As of Big sur, it supports VP9 hardware decoding on Safari (which enables 4k playing on YouTube) I tried to test if it supports well on Hackintosh with config iMacPro1,1 and AMD 5700 as discrete graphic card but failed to work, still software decoding used causing insufficient power consumption and high cpu usage. I tested playing 4k youtube video on BigSur on Macbook Pro 2019 and it works great with VP9 hardware decoding to achieve less than 10% CPU utilization. However, i noticed that it utilizes integrated graphic UHD 630 instead of discrete graphic card as shown on activity monitor. I just wonder if VP9 hardware decoding currently supported on BigSur is only for integrated graphic card only? It is welcome to share with any idea for people who has ever looked into. I would appreciate that! submitted by /u/junzhli [link] [comments] [► Source]
