There's an issue in Catalina where in the keyboard locks out randomly (in my case, when pressing CAPS lock key) and no matter you unplugged and plugged in the USB keyboard it still locks out until I reboot my machine. Note: USB ports work. Mouse with USB receiver work. External HDD has power and detected by the system after keyboard disconnects so it's not a USB port issue. August 29, 2021: I always used the computer with bluetooth headset. Today I noticed 2 things about the audio. Quality is terrible on speaker with Audio ID 3, but is good with ID 28. Hi all, My Hackintosh (ThinkPad T440s, BigSur11.4, OC 0.7.2, Stock Intel WiFi Card, Airportitlwm 2.0) connects to my dad's WiFi network but I cannot communicate with anything. The WiFi connection shows up as good, my router detects the device and assigns an IP address, but in MacOS I can't even connect to the browser's local web interface (it's a Fritz! Box 7530) I tried deleting and reconnecting the WiFi, renewing the DHCP lease and deleting the config files, nothing worked. What I noticed was that my router assigns an IP address like 192.168.188.x but in the network preferences my Macos shows 192.254.129.x Also the subnet mask is wrong, it uses 255.255.0.0 where all other devices in this network seem to use 255.255.255.0. Router IP address is not shown. I tried manually configuring ipv4 but that does not work. Can someone help me with this? Hi. I decided to switch from Clover to OpenCore. I once heard that Clover leaves some traces in UEFI, and that switching to OpenCore may end up not starting the UEFI BIOS. It's true? I've completed the first installation and after it restart, and selected the macOSInstaller option for the 2nd installation from the usb drive, it show this screen and it immediately restart my pc. I check the OpenCore Boot Issue but nothing specific mentioning the problem I'm having now. Searching on this sub also doesn't seem to find anyone with the same problem. This might be a silly question, but what is the best way to update your macOS on an opencore build? I am running Big Sur v11.1 with no problems, but am receiving a popup wanting me to update to v11.5.2. Can I just use the MacOS update installer? or do I need to update all my Kexts n whatnot and make a bootable drive. Is the jump from Sierra to Big Sur even possible? Or is an earlier OS a better bet? The guides on tonymac are helpful but it wasn't clear if this big of a jump is supported, and if old hardware would still be compatible. Another reason I was dubious was because one of the first steps is to download the most recent OS from the app store, but my app store does not return any mac OS's for download. Makes it look like I missed the opportunity to upgrade easily when I had it. I'm willing to upgrade some parts too (particularly the GPU), but if I have to rebuild the whole thing to upgrade the OS or use some better parts, I'll probably stick with what I have. Hi people, I'm posting here in search of help to put a setup together. Since i'm new to this i would love some help selecting a list of parts to get. I looking to either dualboot or run full hackintosh, wish would be the better option? Budget would be between 1-2k for a 10 years ish setup, or upgradable one. I'm a designer looking to run the adobe suit (graphic design, large size photoshop files, video editing ) and eventually 3D modelling/rendering. Gaming is not a priority. This is weird. I've followed the update guides, and I've installed OpenCore 0.7.2 on my hack (In the EFI folder of my EFI partition.) When I boot, I see it report 0.7.2 in the boot loader and it all seems to work fine. But when I check my config with Hackintool or the command line, it tells me that I am using REL-066-2021-02-02 Any idea what's going on, or what I should be checking?
