I'm trying to undo all the damage I did with a Multibeast install followed by using someone else's EFI that actually is the wrong SMBIOS. I have followed the amazing instructions here plus any of the additions in the thread, and have set it all up in a USB stick with Clover installed.
I put the USB stick in a USB 2.0 port in the back of the machine (Gigabyte Z170 board), turned it on, and selected the USB stick as my boot drive with the BIOS boot selector (F12 on boot—it was the last of about 100 listings in the boot selector... Another problem I want to get sorted...).
Clover doesn't come up. Instead I just get an error saying there's not OS on the USB stick, which is indeed true, but....
I know the USB stick has an EFI partition, and I know Clover is on it, and I have a shiny new config.plist, and I have my kexts...
What dumb thing am I missing?
