I LOVE Apple software, and I am an iSheep. But I have to admit that MacBooks are not very powerful. So I want to decide on whether or not I should hackintosh a Razer Blade 14” 2017 or buy a MacBook Pro 15” 2017. However, I’m a noob to hackintoshing, have never done it before, nor do I know how to. I can understand some technical stuff though, because I know quite a lot about macOS/iOS internals.
The configuration I want the MacBook Pro to have is: [2.8GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz], [1TB or 2TB SSD storage], [Radeon Pro 560 with 4GB memory]. If you want a simpler list of it, it’s the 15” MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 1TB or 2TB PCIe-based SSD, Radeon Pro 560 4GB.
The configuration I want the Razer Blade in is: [14" 4K UHD | 3840 x 2160 | Touch Screen] and [1TB SSD (PCIe M.2)]. Again, the simpler list is Razer Blade with Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and a 1TB SSD.
The reason I want the Razer Blade is purely hardware. I hate Windows, but love the hardware. So, I want to just save the Windows product key, wipe Windows and install macOS High Sierra. The reason I want to save the Windows product key is because I might need it when running a VM or possibly booting Windows for when I really need it.
I want the Razer Blade to pretty much do everything the MacBook Pro does, plus some things the Razer Blade has that the MacBook Pro does not. A rough list of what I want to be able to do, but not limited to is: - Use the trackpad, complete with multi-touch gestures - Use the touchscreen - Be able to use the App Store, iMessages, FaceTime etc. - Use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Airplay/AirDrop - Use the Razer Chroma keyboard backlighting with RGB lighting
If I need to replace, let’s say the network card, I am willing to.
Please comment why xyz won’t work, or how to make it work etc. It will help a lot! If I figure out a way to get everything working, I’ll get the Razer Blade and hackintosh it. If I can’t, I’ll get the MacBook Pro(which would be sad since the GTX 1060 6GB is about 2x powerful than the Radeon Pro 560 4GB).
Thanks!
