[Success] First try and the road ahead

Laptop: Acer aspire es1-572-31kw

Cpu: i3-6100u Gpu: intel HD 520 Wifi: intel pro set wireless (doesn't work) Ethernet: related Audio: realtek (unknown functionality) Display: built-in

Getting it to where it was in the picture above required some... effort. The assets used were a 3DS, an android smartphone, one needle (not necessary), a micro sd to USB converter, 2 flash drives (one with gparted live)

The process started purely from windows. Made a mac VM, passed through a USB to it and made install media with unibeast (virtualbox extension pack is necessary, otherwise the USB will be corrupted and need to be re-tabled by gparted). The kexts needed besides default were the VoodooPS2Controller.kext and the ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext. Multibeast was not run after but it is advised until proven otherwise.

After that, the things that don't work...

Display brightness changing Wifi Most keyboard keys (wrong key map used by default in mac) Function keys and f key effects Sd card reader * potentially audio Secure boot

As a warning, besides secure boot, no bios setting can be touched that guides mention, so ignore that step. And there is no modded bios to help.

And the long road ahead, what I aim to do aster all this...

I am the developer type, and I support cross platform. Without having an OS, compiling for it does not work well...

So, for the time being, I'll be installing Mac Mojave, Windows 10, and Ubuntu 18.04 on one little laptop, dividing drive resources as necessary (SSD + HDD).

Mac: Adobe, DAW (if audio works). Windows: Gaming, DAW (if mac fails), media. Ubuntu: Programming, 3D rendering/ modeling, general development.

This setup is complex, so in the future I hope to install a bare metal hypervisor that is self contained (like hyper-v so you don't need a second computer to view VMs), and run all 3 that way, so in the event of a crash it can just be re- loaded in minutes and reinstalled in the same amount of time.

Thank you for listening to a crazy person. Have a nice day.
