Swapped GTX1050 ti for 1080 and now OSX won't boot. Also can't reinstall using exact same install files/procedure as before (Sierra)

I've had my hackintosh build running perfectly on sierra for about 2 years. I had to upgrade my GTX 1050ti for a 1080, and afterwards the system wouldn't boot. Looks like some sort of kernel panic

I figured that might be the case since hackintoshes can be very finicky. The strange part is, I can't get a clean OS install to boot past clover no matter what I do. I'm using the exact same files i had saved on the flash drive from last time (same multibeast, osx dmg, etc).

Everything works fine up until the apple loading screen where it crashes. (sorry no details, not home atm.) Safe mode boots just fine.

So i'm not looking for a detailed breakdown of my kernel panic or anything. Just wondering if anyone knows, is there some inherent difference between a 1050ti and a 1080 that would cause a compatibility issue or require separate boot flags?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
