This is my first Hackintosh build, and my first PC build in about 8 years so I'm fairly out of the loop with the community.
I'm looking at building a PC that can double as a home studio work machine in MacOS, and a PC that can do some light gaming in windows. The plan at the moment is to split the hardrives, 1 sata and 1 HDD for each side of the system.
I'd read on another thread that you can load 2 separate GPUs for each system, so I plan to use onboard graphics for the MacOS.
I just wanted some advice on the build, if there is anything in the build that won't work, or any advice to make the system more efficient or "better".
Here's the link to my build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xLgKNc
Only thing I changed out was was the wifi card to a $15 Intel 9260.
Everything else was stock including the Samsung PM961 OEM SSD. I was very surprised that everything went without a hitch given my SSD and wifi card.
The only thing things that doesn't work is my bluetooth (tbh the BT on this thing sucks anyways) and the brightness only has 4 true steps.
I used dragonflylee's config and only swapped out the wifi kext.

I have only two problems, I use a WIFI stick, it's a TP Link TL823N, the internet works in other applications, except those that depend on iCloud, and the other problem is that I have no sound. Can someone help me ? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
In the Dortania Guide "Fixing Sleep: Preparations" they have you use these terminal commands for testing, but don't tell you how to undo them when you're done:
sudo pmset autopoweroff 0 sudo pmset powernap 0 sudo pmset standby 0 sudo pmset proximitywake 0 sudo pmset tcpkeepalive 0
Do I just change them all to 1?

I have fixed this issue with u/tkashkin solution. -- I'm getting the following messages while making my hackintosh. What i'm doing wrong? I think that every error occurs to one thing which is bad.
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600. I'm using official documentation and i'm following AMD Ryzen tutorial. I have an Optional vault set, Quirks under Root is present. I have used OCConfigCompare and it told me: [link] [comments] |

I’ve tried adding kexts manually and nothing happens, I even tried reinstalling macOS like 3 times. Everything works plugged in, though.
Laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port, but I’ve connected via usb c adapter and it works flawlessly. Same with external keyboard and mouse. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I’ve installed via clover

Here is my EFI: https://files.destoryg.ga/api/raw/?path=/EFI.zip PC info: CPU:E5-2660 v2 ivy bridge Dual Memory:Kingston DDDR3L GPU: GTX 960 System Verision:10.13.6 17G65 Motherboard:X79 [link] [comments] |
I have installed BigSur on my laptop, and I want to upgrade to Monterey, but i found opencore stucked at :
AppleIntelLpssI2CController::_serviceMatchingTimeSubr: fTimerServiceMatching timed out, fNotifications 0
My laptop: Lenovo Yoga 710-14ikb Intel i7-7500U
The opencore I used before (which works in BigSur but not in Monterey) :

The opencore I made for Monterey (which works in BigSur but not in Monterey):
https://mega.nz/file/AsVEHYgR#xuiaOmc8_iNQI_mKkrEiVA910zEgm06mbOS3GRRgGwY My SSD is Samsung 970 Pro, do I need NVMeFix?
What is RestrictEvents for?
i remember the general consensus was to use separate SSDs but it was clover back then and windows often like to munch on clover‘s efi for breakfast. (currently it’s possible to boot both opencore and windows in uefi mode off the same efi partition)
My Lenovo Z50-70 was running smooth with MacOS Monterey. but Something happened and now MacOS keeps loading and never ends. It always freeze around 50% of progress.
Here is link for my EFI directory and Log file.
Hey peeps out there,

Can I make nvidia card work along side with intel hd in ventura
I'm not using a HackIntosh at the moment. I've been using real Macs with recent versions of macOS since mid February 2021. I'm currently using a MacBook Pro (mid 2012) which I've upgraded from Mountain Lion with 4Gb memory and a 512Gb HDD to Monterey OCLP with 16Gb memory and a 512Gb SSD. I did HackIntoshing in the past on a Toshiba Satellite C60 laptop, but it wasn't very successful, because the first time I had problems with the graphics and the second time macOS wouldn't boot without the USB stick inserted, then the USB stick got smashed! After that, no other macOS USB stick I made would boot it up.
I don't think I can afford even an Apple Silicon M1 Mac, so I'm worried that in the near future my MacBook Pro will be left behind wit hardly any software support. Even macOS Catalina hardly has any support now. Apart from this, I think that Apple must be stopped from extorting money out of people, as well as preventing them from upgrading their memory and SSD capacity, because none of the hardware in Apple Silicon Macs can be upgraded!
I wonder if the solution is for me to learn ARM Assembly Language, then try to hack or patch an Apple Silicon version of macOS. I think this would involve finding and rewriting some conditional branches that make an Apple Silicon version of macOS crash if it finds an ARM chip which isn't Apple Silicon, as well as writing a driver for a non Apple Silicon GPU.
Can anyone out there give me any more details about this? Is there a group I can join to try and achieve this goal?
I’ve finished my macOS Monterey setup with GPU Passthrough on Linux and Virt-Manager. it works very neatly. However, I’ve been stuck on getting this macos iService to work.
My wifi is a USB adapter that is passthroughed from my host to my MacOS virtual machine. I have installed the required drivers for it on the MacOS and the internet is functional.
HOWEVER, in order to make iMessage and etc to work I’ll need to make my USB Wifi built-in, and it is not. The approach I’ve seen on OpenCore’s official documenting states I’ll need to make a null Ethernet by using the included kext and modify my config.plist.
I’ve managed to create an en1 that is built in and null. However, now that I have the en1, it basically says that it’s self assigned ip.
Does anybody have any idea or thinks of an approach about this? I’m guessing if I had an internal PCIe wifi adapter things would get easier.

Every time I boot up High Sierra I get the same screen even if I change settings and nothing I do works, I followed a Geekrar setup and saw that they had the same screen but it cut without telling me how to fix the screen, I googled the problem and nothing I tried worked I just keep getting the same error. How can I fix this? [link] [comments] |
In section 7.8 Quirks Properties of the OpenCore Reference Manual (0.8.3)
(f) Download and run Modified GRUB Shell compiled by brainsucker...
--> The hyperlink on "brainsucker" doesn't work anymore. It should probably point to this page: https://habr.com/en/users/brainsucker/
Who should I contact to make the change? Is it u/vit9696 ?

Hi Everyone,
As title said, I have been using High Sierra for last 5 years because of the limited driver support for old nvidia GPU (750 series)
I am going to buy an used 1070 or AMD RX 5600/6600 and prone to the later RX models for their OS upgradability (but that's not for now)
Right now I just want to know "what need to be done" to the kext, cloverconfigurator before I physically put RX on the mobo?
I'm using clover and i5 gen 7.
Hope I can get some good advice from experienced.
Hello all,
The title sums it up. I am hoping to get some advice what changes need to be made to my Hackintosh open-core config to allow the RX 6600xt I have to work for my existing setup. Currently, my config was prebuilt since we have nearly identical builds using the tutorial at: https://github.com/Mattis-Schulte/hackintosh-asus-b450f I recently bought the compatible 6600xt replacement card from Pulse Saphire but upon trying to boot with it it hangs at a black screen which I semi expected. Just wondering what edit I need to make to the config for it to accept the new card. Note: I still have the RX580 handy to swap in and out so no issues there. TIA for the help friends.

Lenovo Thinkpad T460 running macOS Monterey 12.5.1 Almost everything works except some continuity features. Too bad, I won't be able to unlock CFG and set DVMT alloc unless I have an SPI Programmer. [link] [comments] |
hello everyone,
i am fairly new to this but i manage to get big sur running and even updating from catalaina.
it was working fine til i upgraded to OC 0.83
i have intel i7 3770, with intel g61 mobo, 8gb ddr3 and amd 380
i dont see any errors just stuck at logo when select HDD and sadly USB i have is the same since i upgraded it too.. linked configfile to post, upgraded to try to get monterey then ventura running
https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/01bEr_r8v466zWPJUNd7htseA#config
SMBIOS: iMac17,1. I did a quick test about HEVC encoding speed in FCPX
Round 1: Compressor uses ~75% of HD530, total time 1min43s.
Round 2: Add AAPL,slot-name=Slot-1. Compressor uses only ~25% of RX580, total time 1min46s.
Just wondering is AMD being too slow or is Intel being too fast?
Hello I am fairly new to the hackintosh community and im wondering if it is possible to install it on my and processer if so please redirect me to a area i can look at to install it.
