Upgrading to Ventura from Monterey.
Image
Upgrading to Ventura using a USB installer with an Intel Core i3 Haswell processor (HD 4400)? I see what you're up against! Backup, Backup, Backup: No matter how you upgrade, always back up your data first. Things can go wrong, and it's best to be prepared. Customize Your Installation: Make sure to select the upgrade option during the installation process, not the clean install. This should keep your files and applications intact. Keep Your Recovery Partition: If possible, maintain your recovery partition during the upgrade. It could save you if something goes wrong. Hackintosh Guidelines: If you're dealing with a Hackintosh project, forums and guides specific to your hardware and macOS version might have tips for smooth upgrading. Even though the process should preserve your data, never underestimate the importance of having a solid backup. It's the best way to ensure that you won't lose anything important. Happy upgrading, and enjoy Ventura! Feel free to reach out...

My "Mini-ITX 2" Skylake computer (listed below) is running Monterey 12.6.3. I have two 1 TB SATA drives. I want to downgrade this computer to run Mojave 10.14.6. Can't boot into installer with OC configuration that used to work
Image
So I have this ThinkCentre M93p Tiny that I did successfully install Big Sur on like 2 years ago. I then installed another OS on this machine and saved the OC folder with the working configuration just in case. I am now trying to install it again. First I tried Monterey and changed the Type to iMac16,2. Since it did not show me a black screen after the verbose output, I thought trying the old Big Sur configuration that used to work and I got the same problem. Since I upgraded the CPU from an... Ventura upgrade issue on Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1
Image
Hello, I have been running a rock-solid Monterey hackintosh on my Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 (i5-8350U Kaby Lake R) and decided to complicate my life yesterday and upgrade to the Ventura RC. The system seemed to upgrade fine and doesn't crash, but it hangs around halfway on the progress bar during boot. Attached is a screenshot of the system with a "-v" passed - it hangs right after TRIM completes. It's been on for ~18 hours and the messages following the TRIM output came in sometime overnight, so something is still running. My EFI is unchanged and includes the latest non-beta versions of opencore, lilu, and all kexts. Any thoughts on where I should look? https://preview.redd.it/f0xlt44eu5v91.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d928403fc4b2d406fbfa033bab4e1f8d1027a20 submitted by /u/Desperate_Diver549 [link] [comments] [► Source]
