To Update or Not to Update

A while ago I got a successful Catalina setup going on my hardware (6-core i5, rx 5600 xt, asus prime z490m). I saw some advice that when you get it working well, stop tinkering, and that sounded good, so I did. Now I'd like to update, but it's been ages and OpenCore has had many, many versions since. I know with Apple silicon hackintosh is hitting a dead end, but I kinda feel like I should be able to get one last update out of this equipment. So, my question is, what do you all think is best?

a) Let it sit, you've gotten about as far as you'll go on those components

b) You might get to Monterey or Ventura, but it's best to start as a fresh install

c) Trying to update to a newer version of the os is totally doable, just updating the old configs to current version and then running the os installer

For a little more context, I think I have version .6.5 of OpenCore going right now, so I'd be hopping over a LOT of versions.
