Success - i5-12400, Sonoma 14.4.1

ditched my previous hackintosh HP 800G4 DM, and opted for a new DIY PC.

First I used a bootable USD (with Ventura recovery and EFI that is grabbed from Github, with modified SMBIOS etc.) to successfully install Ventura.

After Ventura success, downloaded the full Sonoma 14.4.1 installer using Terminal, and then did a successful installation. The recovery method via USB doesn't work. Update in System Settings also doesn't work either.

Final step, use Migration Assistant to transfer all the data/contents/apps from the old HP 800G4 DM hackintosh to this one.

What works.

  • FaceTime (with Logitech web cam), iMesage
  • All my Apps
  • Ethernet, Audio.

Not tested.

  • Bluetooth, WiFi (haven't bought the PCIe card - Fenvi?)

Hardware

  • i5-12400 (used)
  • Asus B760M-A D4 motherboard (new)
  • 16GBx2 Crucial DDR4 3200 (used)
  • Asrock Phatonm Gaming RX570 (used, both DP and HDMI works at 4K 60Hz)
  • Antec NE550 Gold ATX power supply (used)
  • Cruicial 512GB M.2 SSD
  • Noctua NH-U12A cooler (new, only used 1 fan)
  • Noctua NF A12x25 PWM case fan (new)
  • Segotep Linzhi D mATX case

Am very happy with this config. Usual power consumption about 80W. When watching 4K YouTube streaming video, about 110W.

Can share the EFI if it helps (OpenCore 0.9.9).
