Hi everyone, this is my first post on Reddit so sorry if I mess anything up.
I recently got a mid-2012 MacBook Pro (MD101) from my aunt. It's still working fine, and I was thinking maybe I could use it just for work stuff like typing, browsing, and simple tasks. I already have another laptop that I use for work and gaming, so this MacBook would just be for basic use.
I found out about OpenCore Legacy Patcher and it looks really interesting. But I’m not sure if it’s still worth upgrading this MacBook in 2025. I’d probably need to upgrade the RAM (it’s only 4GB right now) and maybe put in an SSD too.
Is it still a good idea to do all that? Has anyone here used OCLP on this model and had a good experience?
Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts. Thanks in advance!
