I have a Lenovo z50-70 with Sierra. For wifi I am using a edimax usb dongle. It work ok, but because af apples restrictions(no native support), I can't use my schools primary wifi (801.1x certificate something). that limits me to my schools guest wifi, with causes these complications. - i have to create a new account every day, as a single account is only valid for 8 hours - I can't use native driver print, and "had" to buy a 10 dollar extension - i have slower internet speeds( 5 up 2 down) yeah its rough Request if apple added native support I would give them my left kidney. But we all know that isn't gonna happen. The real solution is a custom driver/StatusBarApp.app compatible with the network. If somebody way smarter than me can help me I will buy u a coffee or two. Good morning r/hackintosh ! After some research it seems like a thinkpad x220 is one of the best options for a hackintosh laptop. (also open to a uggestions on more that are as compatible) I am set on a laptop because of the portability and my current job situation. Can I reasonably expect this to be a worthwhile investment as far as lasting me and remaining useable for the near future? I plan on getting the i7 version and will be doing light video editing (footage from a hi8 video camera) and photo editing/scanning and the usual web browsing/productivity. Hi there, I have a hackintosh running on latest Sierra. My components are the following: i5-6600 Msi gtx 1060 Asrock h97 1tb ssd 16gb ram Those are the kext installed in 10.12 folder: FakeSMC IntelMausiEthernet.kext realtekALC.kext USBInjectAll.kext So I need to put them in Other after upgrading clover to the latest version. Where can I get all the latest version of these kexts including the apfs.efi ?? Also, I see that a lot of people have problems with nvidia webdrivers....if I dont use agdpfix, my screens would stay black because my smbios is 17.1 (i have skylake), so I guess for the next install I need to put lilu.kext and nvdiagraphicsfixup.kext in other? So I’m attempting to finally get my studio set up in my new house with the new computer build. I go to install my drivers for my interface, all is well. Restart, go to turn on, and the interface isn’t connecting to my computer. Interface works perfectly on my laptop, but I don’t believe it’s connecting to my Firewire Card. 1) Do you need to click "Connect" after every boot? Do you need to enter the WiFi password after every boot? Are there any disadvantages on using USB ones? 2) I'm now using a mini-PCIe card which works out of the box (no kext needed). Are there any USB WiFi cards that work out of the box? Hi, I had some problems with installing high sierra, had to remove my GPU card (GTX 1050 ti) to get through to the installer. I can boot to high sierra when my GPU is not connected on the motherboard. I installed de new nvidia webdriver for 10.13 (even tried with the "SIP-trick"), injected nvidia webdriver through clover, disabled injection of intel, installed the lilu and NVDIAgraphicfix kexts, etc.. But nothing worked to get to the desktop. When I try to boot with my GPU an error shows up: IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 The screen keeps refreshen en then showing that error again.. Hi, I just wanted to share my experience upgrading Sierra to High Sierra. TLDR; Everything went flawless and is working as expected . Here's the steps I took. . - Downloaded High Sierra from Mac App Store. - Downloaded Nvidia Drivers. - Extracted APFS.efi from downloaded High Sierra Installer (/usr/standalone/i386/apfs.efi in basesystem.dmg). - Updated Clover. - Put APFS.efi in the right place. (/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/). - Copied my Kexts into /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other/. - Launched the update. - Got coffee and waited for 20min. - On last reboot, just installed Nvidia Drivers and rebooted. - Great Success ! Everything works like everything worked on Sierra. No special tinkering or weird things. The only thing I noticed is on boot, APFS seems to output log text before Clover loading everytime. It's really quick and doesn't make any problems, but it's there. Boot is a bit longer than Sierra, but nothing dramatic. Specs - Intel Core i7-4790. - Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H. - GeFor...

This is a very strange thing, never happened to me before. I accidentally noticed that my laptop wakes up by itself after I put it to sleep. Not instantly, but after few hours. I hear the fan and see the LEDs, but the screen is off and it doesn't react to any keypresses. After a minute or two it turns off, and the next morning I can get it from sleep as usual. I wonder, what the hell is this? Is it some kind of standard Apple maintenance procedure or I'm being hacked? Maybe my hackintosh is malfunctioning? Hello, i bought an external HDD (Intenso 4TB) from amazon a few weeks ago and since then, i always have to formate it again and again so it keeps "working". After a few days i always receive a message, that Time Machine could not create a backup on the HDD. I found no way of solving this without formatting the HDD and doing a new Backup. This is the worst case solution for me, since i need those BackUps for me and my customers (Photos) and i just don't now what to do from here, any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. More than two years ago I installed Yosemite (my first hackintosh build) ... then I upgraded to El Capitan and am still on it due to lack of proper Karabiner replacement. So I'm now thinking on upgrading to High Sierra but I'm not sure if all (24) my Karabiner settings could be replicated in Elements version. Can't read it, and it's not preventing booting, but everytime I start my Mac since updating to 10.13 w/ latest Clover, I'm getting a brief wall of text before I get to the Clover boot menu... As you can read from the title...I cannot boot anatomy system. It boots to the clover boot screen with 3 options of booting from: internal_hfs: Boot FileVault Prebooter from Preboot | internal_hfs: macOS from MacOS | recovery: Boot Recovery from Recovery. All of the options send me to a screen with the 'prohibit' sign ø.
