I dont understand whats going on. Ive had my mac partition working for a few weeks now. Yesterday i was using it as normal, closed the lid and when i came back my pc had rebooted into my windows partition. When i try to boot into mac partiton i bearly start loading then it restarts. I booted up my backup EFI on my USB and enabled verbos. From that i got 100 lines of io platform panic action applesm c. Does anyone know how to fix it? I can boot into recovery, i tried running first aid, but no luck. Hello, I just recently installed a macOS Big Sur 11.6 on my system. I completed the installation and I can get into it. But the problem is, it's very laggy. When I click about this Mac, the graphics is only 7 MB. I've searched on the internet for the solution, many of them change the "APPL,ig-platform-id" from the value "3E9B0007" to "07009B3E". I've followed each step carefully, but each time I restart the system after changing the config.plist. I've tried countless times to convert my desktop into a hackintosh (dual-boot). After checking out OpenCore I decided to try it one more time, and this is the farthest I've come so far. The desktop is running totally fine (I'm even typing this post on it now) besides the graphics. Under "About This Mac", graphics shows as "Display 33 MB", and under system information/graphics "No Kext Loaded". It shows in the performance too, very laggy and glitchy... I've tried to get it running for three days using different solutions to no avail. I've looked at many "Success" configs here but I'm still confused about the RAM I should choose for a z390 Designare/i9-9900k build (Note: I plan to use Mojave for compatibility with audio devices). I've also looked at the compatibility list on the Gigabyte website but since the MB is quite old, it does not help me. If someone can tell me what RAM to choose it would be very helpful. Which Brands? HyperX Fury, Crucial Ballistix or Corsair Vengeance ? Which frequency? 3000, 3200 or higher ? Or maybe they are all fine as long they are DDR4 ? So, my EFI works but the boot halts after displaying the Apple logo. Is there any Linux distro that I can boot and from there access the MacOS disk? It's BigSur with the new filesystem, so I guess I am out of luck. Most of my files are on iClould thank god, but there are some stuff locally that I would like to recover. I recently hackintoshed my Huawei Matebook MRC-W00A and I've been facing this issue. I have taken a look at guides like this which uses hda-verb and codeccommander, but I haven't been able to access /usr/bin to try it. I'm also hearing some annoying pops when wearing the headphones, when booting and every now and then when not listening to music. Internal speakers on the other hand work nicely always. I recently cross graded from a 3900X to a 5600X. I did this for a couple reasons and am genuinely happy with the chip. The single core performance bump comes in handy with gaming in windows and I don't mind the extra time when to encode videos in macos. My problem is this: ​ When I had the 3900X in this machine the geekbench scores were largely the same in windows and mac and in line with what you would expect for a 12c/24t chip in a SFF case with not a great cooler. Now that I put the 5600X in the same machine, the geekbench scores are appreciably lower in MacOS but in windows they are inline with what you'd expect from the geekbench browser for this chip. ​ Specs are: OC 0.7.2, Big Sur 11.6, MSI B450I Gaming M motherboard, 2x8GB 2933Mhz Ram, 5700XT. Hey guys! I've been looking to upgrade the GPU in my hackintosh for a while now, and was considering to buy a 6000 series GPU. I am a little confused however, since it the dortania guide the 6000 Series is still listed as not supported: "These GPUs are slated for support sometime in the next few macOS releases as we have full confirmation on framebuffer and PCI ID support in the drivers. However, at this moment, there is limited functionality with these GPUs so we recommend holding off purchasing until proper acceleration has been achieved in the public." Hey all, i'm attempting to do a fresh install of 10.15 on a new SSD on my Hackintosh that was previously running 10.14. System specs are Gigabyte Z390i Aorus Pro WIFI, i9-9900KS, Vega 64 GPU. I'm able to boot the USB installer, and begin the installation. OpenCore reboots, and I select the new install off of the hard drive, and get the standard apple logo with 'x minutes remaining' after that. The problem is, once the installer reboots again, I loose the ability to boot off of the hard drive in the OpenCore 'launcher' and it only allows me to boot off of the USB stick, which brings me back to the Mac OS Utilities screen to re-install from step 1. I can't seem to get past this step. I did a fresh install of Big Sur using OpenCore couple of days ago, everything seems to work fine except PC freezes once it goes idle. Monitor turns off and I can't get it out of idle. Hello, I've been having some problems with my build for a while now, for starters, I need to unplug and replug the hdmi every boot to get picture on my monitor, and then performance wise it absolutely tanks after an hour or so. I checked the intel power gadget to check clock speeds and they seem rather normal. Hey /r/hackintosh , I am a (un)prideful owner of an AMD 6700 XT which I bought with the intent of using with a Razer Core X eGPU to, among other things, plugging external monitors without the insane overheating and lag that this causes on higher resolutions. I was quite surprised to learn that this is one of the only models from the 6XXX series that is not supported. I have been expecting it to be for the last few months, but this hope is starting to dwindle more and more with each passing day. So here is my question: is there any way to spoof the 6700 XT device ID or trick macOS Big Sur into thinking I have another, supported, graphics card? It doesn't matter to me if gaming performance is affected. Only that I can plug one (or more) monitors in 2160p resolution using the eGPU.
