I new at attempting to install macos on pc hardware. SO I decided to try on my old Dell Optiplex All in one with a Core i5-4670S with an iGPU. The issue is the built in screen is not displaying correctly, I get a scrambled screen once it starts to boot the installer. When I attached an external hdmi screen it works correctly. Hi! I am looking to upgrade my hackintosh and was really interested in the ROG STRIX Z590-A. I haven't seen anyone use this board yet so I was wondering if there were any obvious reasons why this board wouldn't work with Big Sur. I will be using it with an 11700K and I know that the iGPU won't be usable and that thunderbolt 4 might need some work if I ever need it, but as far as the USB ports and audio support etc goes, should this motherboard work? I have Catalina 10.5.6 and I upgraded Clover and kexts to latest version. I wanted it to be up-to-date before upgrading to Big Sur. Can someone please help I have used GenSMBIOS-master to input the numbers and restarted the computer and it did not fix the issue. Whenever I open the config.plist all numbers are there (iMac15.1) but not in the system report. I've updated from Mojave to Catalina (don't want to buy the new wifi pci card, current BCM4322 is dropped from BigSur onwards). First thing I noticed is the Spotlight indexing problem due to root drive being read only. I have SIP disabled, so "sudo mount -uw /" does the trick and the indexing starts. Just swapped out my motherboard from Gigabyte Z490M Gaming X to Asus Z590M Plus due to NVME issues. After i swapped everything over and set up BIOS settings, drive booted up with no issue. First I followed install using clover configurator to change the SMBIOS to say that I have an iMac 19,1 and once I got the installation done I had to tell the setup I didn't have ethernet when I first installed and setup.
