Hello guys, I have Just completed my Big Sur Hackintosh I can now Dual Boot with Windows 10 I used OpenCore and followed Dortania's Guide and OpenCore Sanity Checker My Benchmarks https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/k2i4ed/windows_vs_hackintosh_this_is_very_unusual/ My Specifications are Intel Core i5 7400 AMD Gigabyte windforce rx570 4gb MSI H110m pro VH Plus Tp Link TL WN-725n v1 (wifi works) I dont have Bluetooth tho However, The only Issue I have with Dual Boot is that After booting into MacOS and then going back to Windows, It always triggers a chkdsk at startup. Planning a dual-boot, dual-drive SSD upgrade
Image
Hey guys, I'm running a dual-boot, dual-drive Hackintosh, and my 490GB SATA M.2 Windows drive (Crucial MX300 490GB) was running out of space so I just snagged a 2TB NVMe for cheap. Since my macOS SSD is a standard no-name 2.5" 220GB SATA drive, I figured I'd just wipe my existing M.2 Windows drive and copy the files from the 256GB drive over. In short, I'd be going from 490GB Windows + 220GB macOS to 2TB Windows + 490GB macOS. I spoke with some people on the Windows front, and it seems like I'll be using Macrium Reflect to do the initial Windows SSD duplicate, but I'm not entirely sure how to keep going from there. My Hackintosh is over 3 years old at this point (still stuck on an NVidia GTX 1070 running High Sierra), so I'm booting with Clover. I've heard that OpenCore is much better, so it might be worth upgrading the bootloader as well. I'm trying to buy a 6800XT or 6900XT and upgrade to Big Sur at some point (I know that the drivers aren'...

In every test, macOS kept ahead of windows MacOS It ranges from 1323 to 1328 Windows It ranges from 1256 to 1282 I really don't understand what is going on In geekbench 5, macOS was always behind Windows But In cinebench mac is always above Windows I also have a question that is there something that is stopping my cpu to go above 941 in SC and 3131 in MC I have this doubt because in my multiple tests, I got the r...

How to fix sleep/wake issue on bigsur ?
Image
Hello everyone, I recently got my hackintosh up and running using opencore 0.6.3, everything works except for waking up from sleep. I've tried USB mapping using hackintool and export the kext to the kext folder under efi, oc clean snapshot the config list, now the USB ports work so does the fenvi t919. However, when I press sleep or lock (lock button first takes me to the lock screen then sleep after 3 seconds), my pc goes to sleep with "No connection" showing on my monitor, when I move my mouse or press a key on the keyboard, my Apple Watch gives me "Unlocked mac by this apple watch" but monitor still showing "No connection". Can anyone advise me on how to fix this? My specs: i5-6500 using iGPU GA-B150-HD3 Fenvi T919 Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/kvl5517 [link] [comments] [► Source]

[EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START] *only when hitting "macOS Installer"
Image
Hi, I recently converted from Clover to OpenCore since I wanted to upgrade to BigSur anyway and I'd have to update Clover to do that. I can boot into macOS fine via OpenCore. Everything works, I hit "macOS" in my boot options, macOS loads, I'm in macOS. I went through the process of updating macOS through the System Preference panel and it downloads, closes all apps, but when it restarts, it crashes my BIOS. No idea why. I restart manually, hit macOS Installer and get the above error. When I restart manually again, I can try macOS Installer a million times, same error with a different timestamp. macOS boots fine, however. It is worth nothing that whenever I hit "Restart" via macOS itself, my BIOS always crashes after showing the logo. I see "ASUS" and then "American Megatrends" logo with no other text. I don't even know where to start for this. The documentation for OpenCore is so scarce and issue fishing is harder than e...

Hackintosh Big Sur Build Dec 2020
Image
Hi all, I have been looking through various builds over the last 4 weeks and it seems a lot of the motherboards are hard to purchase. I want to run Big Sur and have narrowed it down to a Z390 with stock available in UK for Z390 Aorus Master or Z390 Aorus Pro. I can find plenty of threads with people upgrading to Big Sur but if you had the chance of buying new hardware for running Big Sur for the next 3 years am I making the right decision with a Z390 Aorus Master and AMD 5700 XT? I read that some variants of the 5700 XT are more compatible than others any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to do a bit of gaming of this machine in windows 10 but its main task will be web design on Mac OS with 2x 4k 27" monitors of it. I have hackintoshed quite a few years back successfully but its been a while so yet to try open core look forward to the challenge of getting it all going :) submitted by /u/shane_234856 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Z97 i7-4790k and 5700 XT crashes when encoding h264
Image
Hey all! I just got my hackintosh upgraded to Big Sur and switched from Clover to OpenCore 0.6.3. Everything is working well (minus native NVRAM issues due to my motherboard) except this: My hackintosh will hard crash and reboot after anywhere from fifteen seconds to fifteen minutes of attempting to transcode media using h264. Both ffmpeg and Handbrake have this problem. I’ll try to convert from mkv to m4v using either of these tools; my CPU and GPU both go to max usage, and then after sometime it’ll just hard crash. I can’t seem to find any solution. I have my iGPU enabled and properly accounted for with a platform ID. I’ve also tried stress testing my hack under windows to make sure it isn’t my PSU - I a full stress test on the CPU and GPU simultaneously for over an hour and it did just fine, so it’s something in macOS. It did it with my Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse and my current PowerColor 5700 XT Red Dragon. It does this with Clover on macOS 10.15.3 and OpenCore on 11.0.1. Is the...
ThinkPad T440 (non-S) Catalina/Big Sur
Image
I just got my T440 in. Specs: i5-4300u, 8gb ram (dimm only, no soldered ram), 1080p panel (must be an aftermarket, no 1080p from factory), and stock synaptics touchpad. I want to run either Catalina or Big Sur on it. I've searched and searched. All I've found were Sierra guides, and they were for the T440s, not the T440. Is there a guide to follow specifically for the T440, or is it the basic OpenCore guide? I know wifi is kinda broken, or at least varied (with the stock wifi card), so I plan on using 3rd party card or wifi dongle. submitted by /u/TrunkMonkeyJr [link] [comments] [► Source]

Dell Inspiron 7586 2-in-1 i7 8565U Intel UHD 620 Graphics
Image
Hi All, I just wanted to share this success with you, I've managed to get Catalina 10.15.7 running on my Dell Inspiron 7586 on a Whiskey Lake CPU. The details are here: https://github.com/merken/Inspiron7586 There are still some issues, the most pressing one is sleep... The device goes to sleep correctly when asked, but it cannot resume from sleep, help wanted! Another issue is less pressing, the iGPU kicks in very late after boot. The screen remains black for about 2 minutes after the apple logo and progress bar have passed. There's even audio, I can actually type my password press <enter> and be logged in before I even see anything... Is there a way to wake up the iGPU sooner ? Thanks! submitted by /u/mmerken [link] [comments] [► Source]

Intel NUC7i5BNH Success on Mojave with OpenCore
Image
Intel NUC7i5BNH Finally got this working after many issues with Clover and finally tried OpenCore. I've been poking at this for the last few weeks here and there when I had a few mins to spare. OpenCore is a lot cleaner, but more work. I wound up using someone's EFI/kext from the tonymacx86 forums someone on this sub linked (I'll link if anyone is curious). It was a PITA to get proper USB drives (physically). I wound up ordering a few off Amazon because the old crusty ones I was using were from 1999 and way too slow. I wound up ordering a new m.2 ssd (500gb) while I was at it. The only problem I have is the NUC won't boot from the installed disk, only the USB drive. I guess I'll try copying the EFI to the installed disk tomorrow. Pretty darn excited that it's actually working.
