I just wanted to share this success with you, I've managed to get Catalina 10.15.7 running on my Dell Inspiron 7586 on a Whiskey Lake CPU.

There are still some issues, the most pressing one is sleep... The device goes to sleep correctly when asked, but it cannot resume from sleep, help wanted!

Another issue is less pressing, the iGPU kicks in very late after boot. The screen remains black for about 2 minutes after the apple logo and progress bar have passed. There's even audio, I can actually type my password press <enter> and be logged in before I even see anything... Is there a way to wake up the iGPU sooner ?
