I just finished the guide to the opencore hackintosh, ejected my usb drive and plugged it in. It didn’t show up in the boot menu, did I do something wrong??? I have tried Hackintoshing before (I own 2 real Macs that work and 1 that doesn't but most of my Hackintoshing adventures were before I switched to Mac) but I always tried newer versions of macOS like High Sierra or Mojave or Catalina or Big Sur but I never thought of retro Hackintoshing. Recently I decided that I wanted to try out older versions of OS X (like Leopard/Snow Leopard, Lion/Mountain Lion, or Mavericks, ideally Lion because Apple made Lion free or Snow Leopard because I have an official Snow Leopard install DVD) but the problem is, neither of my working Macs are compatible with macOS versions that old (one's a 2020 M1 MacBook Air (my daily driver) and one's a 2015 21.5" iMac) and my non-working Mac would be a perfect candidate (2007 13" MacBook) except that it doesn't work and macOS is famously hard to install in a VM so that's basically off the table so basically my only option is Hackintoshing. Just now my old PC died on me. Motherboard is dead. So I will be looking for new PC parts (CPU, RAM, Mobo) since my current CPU and RAM sticks aren’t compatible with newer mobos. Hi! I am looking to upgrade my hackintosh and was really interested in the ROG STRIX Z590-A. I haven't seen anyone use this board yet so I was wondering if there were any obvious reasons why this board wouldn't work with Big Sur. There is a working BS. OpenCore 0.7.0. ​ I had Catalina for 2 years before that. Decided to go back to Catalina (my BS is a bit slow). Made flash drive with recovers. Took out catalina's EFI from EFI archives. ​ No way! It froze on startup! Same hardware. Did not change anything. Freeze right before creating ram disks (if recovery) or after creating them (if from image). ​ BS boots and installs without any problems. I have a stable Ryzen 7 / AsRock / RX 580 based system running since Catalina without any issues, updating my EFi as I go to update the OS. I've had open core updated to the latest 0.7.2 version, which should be fully compatible with 11.5.1, however after downloading and restarting into the 'Macintosh HD' update volume, it ends up getting to a kernel panic shown here: https://ibb.co/ZWsJQnm ​ Upon rebooting into the main MacOS NVME SSD, it brings up the apple logo with the updating progress bar, and has a timer of about 9 minutes as if its updating, and then starts up MacOS Still on 11.2.3 without any changes to the OS. I’m trying to install macOS via opencore on my Lenovo X390 Thinkpad. It has an Intel i7 10510U and UHD 620 GPU, 16G memory, 512 G NVMe drive, you know the deal. The installer freezes after a couple of mins, whether formatting the drive or installing the OS. Z390 RX 580 i7-9700k 32GB RAM I got Catalina working on a dual-boot with Windows 10. iServices didn't work and I completely forgot about generating iMac SMBIOS onto my config.plist so I had to go and fix it. While on Windows and editing the config.plist I stumbled across an old Linux EFI partition (removed Linux about a year ago) and decided to clean it, turns out my Windows Boot Manager was on it and I got locked out now the config.plist ruined . Fixed my Windows Boot Manager, and now I'm back to the beginning. I got OpenCore on a USB alongside a BaseSystem.dmg of Catalina in case I needed it. "OC: Configuration requires vault but no vault provided!" Now this makes no sense because in my config there's no line that requires the vault. That means I can't switch the option from "Secure" to "Optional" as I have encountered that problem before and solved it. Hello problem solvers, I have one for you... I cannot get past the Apple logo after I do the initial format of the hard drive in recovery mode followed by installing Catalina. After the install finishes (in like 5 minutes) the computer restarts. Hey guys, I updated my config to Catalina (10.15.3) few days ago. It is working perfectly. I'm not using FakeSMC but VirtualSMC. I have only one problem: I cannot monitor CPU/GPU sensors, fan readings, etc... Everything is empty on iStat or HWSensors. So'im using clover to install high Sierra, I can boot to clover and can even to boot to the installer.. but as soon as I start the install the system just crashes and restarts a couple of times. Best Community, I was wondering. What is the current top 3 CPU + !Motherboard with Thunderbolt! (for UAD interface) that are currently available? I can't seem to find a list with information regarding this. I currently use a Z390 Designare x I9 9900K and I wonder if it is worth it to upgrade. I looked at the I9 11900k and it seemed to have 32% more single core power compared to the 9900K But it also needs another socket.
