[macOS Sequoia boots only in Safe Mode after OCLP install – reboot loop on normal boot]
Hi everyone,
I recently installed macOS Sequoia using OpenCore Legacy Patcher on my unsupported Mac. I went through the full installation process: • Created the installer USB • Installed macOS Sequoia • Installed OpenCore to the internal disk (not just booting from USB) • Applied the Post-Install Root Patches successfully • Reset NVRAM from OpenCore’s boot picker
Here’s the issue: The system only boots in Safe Mode. When I try a normal boot, the following happens: • The Apple logo shows and the progress bar begins to load • The bar only reaches about halfway (or just before halfway) • Then the screen goes black, the Mac reboots on its own, and the same thing repeats in a loop
In Safe Mode everything works fine — Wi-Fi, graphics, etc. Root patches show as already applied in the OCLP app, and I can confirm OpenCore is properly installed on the internal SSD.
I’m wondering if there’s a known issue causing this reboot loop outside of Safe Mode? Could it be a missing or misapplied patch? Something else I should reset or check manually?
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!
