Should I upgrade my old iMac 27" 2010 or sell it and build a hackintosh instead?

I need a reliable desktop for photo and video editing. Lately my old iMac has been giving me issues with processing raw images and has been super sluggish performing basic operations. I have the option of upgrading the cpu, gpu and ram of the 2010 iMac which will cost around $700. Unfortunately fitting 32 GB of ram will be a waste as it will bottleneck due to the speed of the CPU, and GPU memory. The CPU can be upgraded to an I7 2700 and the GPU to a 2 GB

The other option is to sell the iMac in it's current condition (which I won't get much for) and build a hackintosh from scratch. Is it a waste upgrading such an old machine?

I've attached the specs of my current iMac. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
