Sonoma wallpaper bug?

Not sure if this is open core related or not, but..

Sonoma runs fine on MacBook 8,1 late 2011. But when selecting any other wallpaper besides Sonoma, after login, I get a black background and it takes 3 seconds or so after login to set it.

I tried a variety of things already, from the Mission Control hack to specifying folders, locking the screen, etc none of it does the trick. If I add a photo as a background it loads instantly. It's just the ones from the default Sonoma collection that won't load properly.

The default Sonoma wallpaper I suspect gets a different treatment from other ones.

Did anyone else encounter this? I've seen plenty of posts on it but those hacks only seem to work with the default Sonoma wallpaper, not with the other ones unfortunately.
