After a successful install of Sonoma on a MacPro 3.1 2x 2.8Ghz from early 2008 I noticed that only 4 cores(instead of 8) and only one CPU (instead of 2) are reported with Apple’s System Profiler as well as with Micromat’s TechTools.
I tested on 2 different MacPro 3.1 with the same result.
With Geekbench the result was also as expected - the multi core result was only half the reference result seen with 2 CPU's.
I also use OCLP 2.40 / Sonoma on MacPro 4.1 where the two CPU's are detected correctly. But with that configuration I struggle with stuttering audio - as far as I know an Apple bug also affecting newer machines running Sonoma directly. The audio issue can be seen on MacPro 4.1 from Mojave and up.
Needing audio for meetings I switched to MacPro 3.1 where audio is working fine on Mojave and up.
Any Idea how to fix that issue with undetected CPU's / cores on MacPro 3.1 with Sonoma ?
