ask - Please provide details when asking for help / advice

I am kinda new to the community but try to help out as I am a user of OCLP on older macs. But it's hard to provide assistance when most posts do not even attempt to make an effort to provide useful information.

I see posts asking for help with no indication of step that led to the issue, what troubleshooting has been done so far or even screenshots of what the issue is.

I also see posts asking for advice about capabilities of their hardware without providing any specs other than "it's a 2015".

When posting can you please make sure you are providing as much information as you can so you can get good help/support. Here is a good starting point:

Machine Specs

  • Model: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
  • CPU: 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Disk space: 512GB

Issue Details

Give a detailed explanation of what your issue / concern is, along with steps that you took:

  • Formatted drive using Disk Utility during install
  • Installed OS
  • On reboot I'm not sure what to do

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Looked up the documentation for what options to pick but the EFI option is not showing up.
  • Tried re-installing but having same issue.

Note:

  • The Documentation that covers lots of scenarios can be found here
  • The list of supported devices can be found here
