Preparing Dummy USB for Big Sur update from Catalina. MacOS kernel panic 'No kext summary'
Image
Can someone please help me? I'm preparing an OpenCore USB in preparation to upgrade from catalina to big sur. I've updated OpenCore to the latest version ( 0.6.5 DEBUG ) and all of the kexts except USBMap.kext . Initially I thought it was a problem with the kexts that I had obtained using Lilu and Friends , so I have tried replacing them with pre-built kexts to no avail. I've used OCConfigCompare and the sanity checker to update my config.plist , and all look fine. Success: Big Sur 11.1 2 x non indentical AMD Card
Image
I tried for fun today to boot my hackintosh with 2 non identical video cards. I honestly did not expected it to work. To my great surprise it did with full acceleration QECI on both! I have one monitor attached to each video card. Here is my relevant setup (no need for anything special on my end it did work OOB) OS: Big Sur 11.1 SMBIOS: Mac Pro 7.1 (2019) Video Card #1 (pluged to 16x port but as it is splitted works as 8x thats normal) AMD RX Vega64 (reference AMD card) - 8GB HBM2 Connected to RCA 43 inche 4K TV (main monitor) Video Card #2 (plugged to the 8x slot on the motherboard works at 8x) AMD RX 560 (powerdragon) - 4GB DDR5 Connected to 2K Acer 32 inche monitor via HDMI (I broke my DP on the monitor somehow in the past so no choice) I thought it was an interesting experiement to try. So it is possible to do it :) Will continue testing and see if I get any performance increase. So far my Vega64 seems faster (even at 8x) with only 1 4k monitor plugged in. htt...

Can't boot macOS catalina/mojave installer - shuts down right after apple logo [OpenCore 0.6.5]
Image
Dear Hackintosh Community, a couple of days ago, I tried to install MacOS on my machine. I thorouhly followed the install guide on dortania and it all looked very promising as the installer booted right away. It got to the Apple Logo, but everytime, after the loading bar is almost finished, it spits out a couple of verbose lines and then shuts down. I can't see anything resembling an error message in these lines, maybe someone here could point me in the right direction? this is shown after the apple logo disappears. Can't tell if the loading bar finishes or is interrupted. Here is everything I've tried: unplugging all USB Devices before booting installer using usb 3.0 Stick over 2.0 using MacOs 10.14 and 10.15 images using iMac19,1 and iMacPro1,1 SMBios using precompiled and generated (SSDTTime) SSDTs disabling XMP in Bios (not mentioned in dortania's guide) disabling Intel SGX in BIOS (not mentioned in dortania's guide) Hardware: CPU: I...
Editable Parts in config.plist (OpenCore Configurator) - that makes iMessage work in Big Sur 11.1
Image
To make iMessage run over BigSur 11.1, I am giving up this, I did everything, my ethernet is 0 by default, used original Ethernet MAC as ROM and lately changed prefix of vendor as Apple Inc., I even changed UUID several times, changed SN, changed it all, used guide step by step, used several SN / UUID from OpenCore Configurator, GenSMBIOS and ProperTree for perfect config.plist formatting. I reset NVRAM several times, cleared caches even reinstalled macOS twice from scratch. Using iMessage with or without Apple ID signed in. Same issue, signs-in and immediately sign-out. I use 2 Apple ID, one of them with credit card linked and physically used in my iPhone. Model I use as emulator: MacBookPro13,1 and MacBookPro13,2, invalid serial. iMessage charges for activation when I use on my iPhone for first time from mobile provider, I am from Egypt and my account is Egyptian and other is US. Can anyone with active iMessage tell specifically every SMBIOS section to be added to config.plist (...
Inexpensive higher res laptop options?
Image
Ultimately will be getting a MBP in the future, but budget wise I need to keep the price down for now. Ive been learning Swift and iOS development on my Inspiron 11 3153, and the 1366x768 res and 11" screen have really shown their weaknesses. Yes, I can use external monitors, but I would like something to be able to do everything on the laptop if I want. I dont need a powerhouse, but would like something at least on par with my Inspiron (i3-6100u, 8gb ram). Id prefer 13" but would also consider something in the 15" range as long as its not overly large, and with at least 1080p or higher resolution so I can fit more on my screen. Looking used in the $250-300 range (or lower if possible), is there anything out there that would fit my needs thats fairly hackintosh friendly? If I up my budget, I might as well get a MBP as I can get decent models used locally for $500-600. submitted by /u/-acid--rain- [link] [comments] [► Source]
Problems with warm reboot after switching motherboard to Asus Prime Z390-P
Image
After my previous MB (MSI Z370-something) burned down, I had to switch my motherboard. Running MacOS Big Sur / Windows 10 dual boot on two different SSD. Bootloader OpenCore 0.6.3. Intel 8700K, PowerColor Red Devil 5700 XT. After swiching the motherboard, I cannot warm reboot (normal reboot) - the fans start spinning at 100%, screen goes black, nothing more happens. When rebooting verbose, the last messages are "MACH Reboot. Gtrace synchronization point 15e". Cold reboot (shut down, start again) works perfectly. The problem happens both when trying to reboot from Big Sur and Windows 10, which leads my to believe it's a problem in the BIOS or config.plist, but I don't know how to troubleshoot. Anyone with any suggestions on where to start? submitted by /u/cphcph [link] [comments] [► Source]
I have no idea what's happening
Image
Last night I decided to get back into hackintosh, and I followed Dortania's guide, which cause this was like the 4th time I've done it, went pretty well (or at least I thought it did) I did everything, followed every tip and trick, and finally got to the installation phase, so I run my config by the sanity checker, and it checks out first try. But then, I boot into the USB flash drive and I'm presented with ESD-USB, Windows, and NVRAM restart, and I don't know what to do cause I've ran it back and forth and my stuff seems to be all ok, but I just can't seem to get it to get the macOS installer Anyone have any idea of what it might be ? submitted by /u/Weissach911 [link] [comments] [► Source]

My success post of Catalina on Acer Nitro 5 Spin i5-8250u has everything working except for iServices. What I've tried: Got NullEthernet.kext and SSDT for the same and is recognised as en0 Builtin because I've a incompatible wireless adapter. Generated various smBIOS with different serials, MLBs, Uuid and ROM values verifying that they are invalid. My personal Apple ID used on my iPhone gave me solution to contact Apple Support which I did and they perhaps unblacklisted my account still not working. Tried making more Apple IDs(Atleast 4) with throwaway emails and valid phone numbers still got the same message so there is definitely some issue with my Setup. My third Hackintosh. Made the jump to OpenCore and it should have been easier. I didn't pay enough attention to the detail so it took longer. I have to say that the Dortania AMD guides are pretty damn good with the one exception being USB Mapping for AMD. Went to https://aplus.rs/2020/usb-mapping-how/ for USB. Semi-Successful Catalina Install
Image
I've an older HP EliteBook 2560P. I used dosdude1's patcher to make a compatible installer, and patch the legacy bits of my system (non-metal HD3000, WiFi, etc), but what's different this time around is that I'm having real trouble getting a usable 1366x768 desktop resolution. System will boot to login screen and then go black. I can close lid, getting it to go to sleep, and the screen will come back long enough for me to enter a password upon waking, and then black out again. If I fiddle with the Clover injection, I can spoof a projector display, and have a working 1024x768, but it of course looks janky as heck. I appreciate any tips, suggestions, or help you fine folks can provide. submitted by /u/gandalf239 [link] [comments] [► Source]

AMD Hackintosh improvements with AGESA 1.2.0.0 - No more CPU temp spikes or micro-stutters
Image
I've been running my AMD Hackintosh for almost a year (X570 Aorus Wifi ITX board, 3900X) and recently swapped the motherboard for a X570 Aorus Master - Similar to my other board, the CPU would 'sawtooth' temperatures in Power Gadget and unless you tweaked the fans you would hear them ramp up/down all the time. Under background noise/idle workload it would fluctuate between 42 and 58C a few times each minute. I'd also experience weird periods of pauses on the system - Less than a second but happened every few minutes. I updated my board to F33a last night which contains AGESA 1.2.0.0 and it's night and day. CPU temps are basically flat, all those micro-stutters are gone. I set my fans back to normal fan curve and they're super quiet now. Haven't done any performance tests yet, but I'd not expect workload to be much different - This just seems to tune PBO and help with the spikes. F33a is a beta bios from Gigabyte, so YMMV and don't cry if it bric...

OC 0.6.5 (and earlier) Audio Breakup
Image
I'm at my wit's end and can't figure out this audio problem I'm having. When playing audio from ANY source, after a time it starts breaking up and distorting, and a longer and longer delay is introduced. My audio is outputted via HDMI via a Vega 64 GPU. If I go to Audio Midi Setup and change the format, the audio is clear for a few minutes, then it starts degrading. The higher the bitrate/sample depth, the quicker it degrades. I can get 5 min out of 16bit 44.1k. I get about 45 seconds out of 24bit 192k. Audio from ANY source has this issue. whether it's Youtube, Spotify, Zoom, or monitoring output from multiple pro audio interfaces. I've had this problem with every flavor of OC since 6.2. I'm on 6.5 no with all the latest needed ktexts and .aml. Ive looked at the AppleHLA guides. That doesn't seem to be the issue. Ive also upgraded my coffeelake processors from i5 9600k to i9 9900ks, This had no effect. I've tried all sorts of BIOS setting...

Add secondary GT710 after upgrade to RTX3090?
Image
Hi! I've recently updated my GPU to RTX3090, which is of course not supported in Mac OS. Previously I had Maxwell and used webDrivers in HighSierra. I have dual boot, mostly use Windows and keep Mac OS for i.e. iphone maintenance. Therefore I thought that I can deal with no acceleration in short sessions. However, no drivers support means also that I can not change resolution from 1024x768 to needed 2560x1440 and that is a real pain. I have no GPU in CPU, to make Mac OS work I have to add supported card. I have space for single slot card. I'm thinking on MSI GT710 DDR3 (since it does not have ugly VGA cable). Therefore few questions: Does somebody use two different cards from Nvidia in Windows and can confirm there is no problem with priority in apps? Does this G710 is really fully supported in Big Sur? Is there any way to set proper resolution in Mac OS and RTX3090? I can live without HW acceleration for my needs. https://preview.redd.it/bav33kn8h3e61.jpg?width=617...

Hack Boots to Black Screen and Requires Reboot for Temp Fix
Image
Good morning all, anyone have any idea why my hack does this? After choosing the Mac in the OC picker it loads as usual and after completion it'll hang on a black screen at the end. I used to be able to rapidly tap or click and it would cause a wrong password error and wake the screen but now it just requires a full restart. Strangely enough, I can also access the computer through using JumpDesktop or Teamviewer since it's connected to the internet at boot, but on both clients, the screen is still black even with both of my monitors powered up and receiving some sort of signal. It's a relatively stable machine and really long app installs + this issue is the only thing preventing it from being perfect. I'm using OC 0.6.5 on Big Sur 11.0.1 using a 3900x and 5700xt on an x570 board. Would definitely appreciate some feedback on how I can go about remedying this, thanks! submitted by /u/bsniped [link] [comments] [► Source]

Fixed AE_NOT_FOUND in Hackintosh Big Sur installer, now facing new error with Lilu patcher

I was previously encountering two similar errors "AE_NOT_FOUND" and "AE_ALREADY_EXISTS". After browsing the internet for hours looking for a fix, I managed to get rid of those errors by enabling SSDT-EC.aml in my config.plist. When I booted my installer, it no longer got stuck on "apfs_module_start" where it would hang and actually got to the part where it verified the base filesystem dmg, but then encountered a new error. https://ibb.co/Qbn9FkB Basically the Lilu patcher fails to solve a couple of things, and then it hangs there.
