How to Fix Intel Hackinthos: Docker Hypervisor framework fail
This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Prerequisites
- Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
- Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
- Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
Hello.
I have my Intel hackinthosh fine and running for quite some time. Could not be happier. I wanted to do some development work using Docker but it seems there is some kind of error. From what i could find here this should be a problem with Ryzen not Intel.
The error is, when trying to launch Docker:
FAIL: Hypervisor framework fails.
And basically it does not launch at all. From what i read its important to have virtualization turned ON in BIOS, which i have.
Any ideas what can be causing it?
My Build:
MoBo:Asus Prime Z390-A
CPU: i5-9400F
GPU: Sapphire radeon RX 580 8GB.
Storage: SSD Kingston
Type: iMac 19,1.
