Greetings,
My PC just broke, finally giving me a pretext to upgrade. I figure that since I'll be building a new computer, I might as well build one that's capable of running as a hackintosh.
I do not have very high requirements, but budget hardware would not suffice. Generally speaking, I'd like a rig that would be capable of running recent games on medium (for a filthy casual) and would be suitable for web/app dev (virtualization support etc.). It is also important for the computer to be easily upgradable and expandable, so that it would last a long time. Lastly, I do not want to go above $1,000 and in fact would strongly prefer to remain significantly below that amount, if possible.
The computer that just broke had an AMD FX-8320 CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, and 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB). I think it goes without saying that the new computer ought to have better specs (and obviously an Intel CPU).
I've tried looking through some of the builds recommended on here, but there's simply too many of them for me to make a decision. Ideally, I'd like to go with a well-known, trusted build that meets the above requirements. Could anyone suggest something?
Thank you.
