Can I do the initial installation without a mac in the first place?

I know I need a mac in the first place to run unibeast to create my USB, but I really cant get a hold of a mac and would really like to give hackintosh a go.

Does vanilla also need a mac to start with?

Or is there any other way to create the usb without a mac?
